Possibly the biggest change in Microsoft Teams history? Teams without the Teams? Public preview in November to desktop, mobile, iOS, and Android. Here is what you need to know: 🟣 Microsoft is introducing a new combined chat and channels experience. Meaning chat and teams/channels will show up under the "Chat" sidebar icon. No more dedicated Teams sidebar button. 🟣 Teams and Channels will have their own section in chat. 🟣 Group your chats and/or channels however best works for you with favourites and custom sections (up to 50 sections and 50 items per section) 🟣 “Unread,” “Chat,” “Channels,” “Meetings,” and “Muted” Filters 🟣 New message can initiate a new chat or new channel post 🟣 New Mention view gathers all your mentions into a single interactive list. 🟣 At launch, a self-service, guided onboarding will help users discover the new experience and configure it to their preferences (on or off) 🟣 Users who prefer to keep chat and channels separate can easily do so during the onboarding process or at any time later. So far, it looks like there are no IT/tenant-level override controls. This experience change is targeted at getting more users using teams/channels. I've been fortunate to be using it for a while, and I'm personally a big fan; my use of the correct channels has gone way up, and now I can find them all in one place in the app, particularly on mobile. Read 100 paywalled research papers for free every month! You don't even need a university account to do this. Here's how to read paywalled papers on JSTOR for free: 1. Go to jstor(dot)org and click on "Register" in the top-right corner. You can register with your personal Google or Outlook account. Or, you can create a JSTOR account manually. 2. Once you've logged in to your JSTOR account, click on "Workspace" in the menu bar. Then click on "Create folder." Choose a name for your folder and click on "Create."Creating folders in Workspace is a great way to keep your papers organized. 3. Type in the keywords in the search bar to find relevant papers. JSTOR willl give you a list of papers. To read a paper for free, click on "Read online." You will see a preview of the paper. Scroll down a bit and click on "Read Online" again. 4. If you find the paper super-relevant to your project, click on "Save" on the top of the article. Choose the folder you just created in your Workspace and save the paper in it. If you go to your Workspace, the paper will show up in the relevant folder. 5. You can also take notes on papers in your Workspace. To do so, click on the "Add Note" button under a paper and start typing. Click on "Save" to your save your note. 6. If you already have a paper and you want to related to it, you can use Text Analyzer. To do so, click on "Tools" and select "Text Analyzer." Upload the paper you have and JSTOR will give you a list of papers related to you original paper. 7. Text Analyzer also lets you callibrate your search parameters. Adjust the priority for different terms by moving the priority scale left or right. You can more related terms and adjust their priority. Text Analyzer will update the results accordingly. 8. If you find a paper interesting, simply click on it and then select "Read Online." 9. You can also add papers to your Zotero library. Open the paper you want to add and click on the Zotero Connector in the top-right corner of your browser. Choose the Zotero collection you want to save the paper in and click on "Done." THIS GUY GOT SICK OF OPENING 30 TABS ON WIKIPEDIA SO HE VIBE CODED A VISUAL BROWSER FOR IT we all know the wikipedia rabbit hole. you click one article, then another link inside it, then another, then another. 30 tabs deep and you forgot where you started this guy built a canvas based browser where every article you click opens as a card on an infinite canvas. every link between articles is a visible connection you can: > look up any article > browse the home screen > draw connections > add post-it nodes > even save your boards locally instead of losing yourself in tabs you can see your entire research path laid out visually like a mind map click an article. the linked topics branch out around it. click one of those. it branches further. your entire rabbit hole is one visual map you can zoom in and out of someone said that this should exist for the entire internet the concept is called "canvas-like browsing" and its a great way to do research reading wikipedia has always been the best way to learn about anything and now you can actually see how everything connects

I've been silently cooking on Believe for a while, without an update. So here's whats changed. - 🎨New onboarding experience when creating an account. Adds explanation behind beliefs. - 🏦 Token Mayors! The top holder of a Belief created by the official Believe account automatically becomes the token Mayor. They get access to update the icon, description and more! - ⚙️ Bunch of small fixes and changes to update older parts of the app with fresh versions. And now the latest update: 💬 Token Chat! - The top 100 holders of any token will now have access to type and send messages in the chat. - Anyone can read the chat live. - Anyone can react to messages. - Token Mayors have moderator access. This is just the very initial version of the chat feature. There will be more features coming to chat very soon, some of them being: - Pinning messages (moderators) - Mentions - Live presence Along with the above we have a lot of new things coming to the app to improve overall experience.

Today, we’re introducing Skills in Chrome, a new way to build one-click workflows for your most frequently used AI prompts — like asking for ingredient substitutions to make a recipe vegan, generating side-by-side shopping comparisons across multiple tabs, or scanning long docs to get the info you need quickly. When you write a prompt that you want to use again, you can save it as a Skill directly from your chat history. The next time you need it, select your saved Skill in Gemini in Chrome by typing forward slash ( / ) or clicking the plus sign ( + ) button, and your Skill will run on the page you’re viewing, along with any other tabs you select.
