Q: "Does the organized Jewish community need a social media strategy?" American Jewish Committee CEO Ted Deutch: "[Social media] is driven by algorithms … and the way to address those algorithms is to deal directly with the social media companies—which is what we do." "And we can point to successes with Meta and with TikTok and with others in working to ensure that anti-Semitic material and anti-Semitic material that feeds into algorithms is taken down from their sites."

There is a new trend taking over the social media algorithms this week. Would you ever try something like this?

JUST IN: Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley says the first thing she will do in office is get the algorithms of social media platforms and then verify every social media user by name. Vivek was right about Haley... Haley, whose daughter enjoys posting on Tik Tok, said: “When I get into office, the first thing we have to do, social media companies, they have to show America their algorithms.” “The second thing is every person on social media should be verified by their name... it's a national security threat.”

🚨 🇮🇱 NETANYAHU: WE MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA ALGORITHMS "The lies, the starved children... turned out to have cerebral palsy or congenital diseases. Israel is accused of starving children, the way Jews were accused in the Middle Ages of killing Christian children for their blood. Lies circle the earth before truth emerges. We must shorten the war and deal with social media algorithms." Source: TRIGGERnometry

Colorado Congressman Jason Crow thinks the Government should have control over social media... "I think we need massive reform to social media & regulation..." "We need to regulate algorithms that are tearing our community apart." Just imagine the government trying to control what you see on social media... Remember the COVID years?! What a nightmare that was! You'd get banned if you said something that contradicted the government!

The manosphere is having a worrying impact on our boys and young men. Misogyny is spreading like wildfire, and social media algorithms are making it worse. If social media companies can't guarantee young people’s safety, then we have to take action.

RFK Jr. says social media algorithms are making Americans hate each other. And we need to come together before it’s too late. “We’re very polarized right now in this country, but there’s always been polarization in America.” “It’s amplified today by social media because the algorithms profit on it.” “The algorithms program us toward tribalism and partisanship.” “I think we’ve got to figure out ways to come together as Americans.” “These algorithms are so powerful and so domineering that it may be existential for our country.”

I watched Pierre Poilievre’s speech today. If I had turned off the video and just had the audio I would have sworn I was listening to Trump. PeePee is a scary man.

I am fighting hard for real and effective regulation of Big-Tech’s social media platforms and the harms that they can cause. We need a systems based approach that holds the Tech Giants accountable for the algorithms that drive their platforms, expose people to harmful content, disseminate misinformation, and profit from outrage and conflict. The government’s planned 16 year-old age ban for social media platforms doesn’t do any of that. It’s why I provided my own Private Members’ Bill to parliament to deal with Big-Tech’s algorithms. And it’s why I couldn’t support Labor’s Social Media legislation as it stands.
