🪵As always, never forget to mention wood burners triples indoor pollution levels. Thank you for everyone involved, especially @Steve_SmartGrid for all your help. Also @Jwheydon @UrbanFlowsObs

@BBCLookNorth @ShefUniNews @AirRated_ @granthamcsf @CivilSheffield @Jwheydon I see the stove industry keep pushing the misinformation that If you use seasoned wood there is no problem. They never mention the fact there is no safe limit of PM2.5 exposure & even an Eco stove burning perfectly seasoned wood is still 400x more polluting than a gas boiler.😷

@BBCLookNorth @ShefUniNews @AirRated_ @granthamcsf @CivilSheffield @Jwheydon Thank you for calling for a ban on wood burners. BBC should not have allowed stove industry to only tell half of the story about the #Airpollution missed pointing out the harm to neighbours as pollution from them is far higher than other forms of heating a topic always ovelooked

@BBCLookNorth @ShefUniNews @AirRated_ @granthamcsf @CivilSheffield @Jwheydon I did mention this but not shown. The pollution coming out of your chimney hangs around the neighbours impacting everyone around you.

@BBCLookNorth @ShefUniNews @AirRated_ @granthamcsf @CivilSheffield @Jwheydon Thank you for calling for an (urban) ban on them Dr. Chakraborty. My father (a climate scientist) burns wood every day in the winter and I am sick of it. A wood-burning ban can't come soon enough!

@BBCLookNorth @ShefUniNews @AirRated_ @granthamcsf @CivilSheffield @Jwheydon This is what we get. Can’t open the windows as have 2 children under 5, unfortunately this then causes mold build up in the house, which is also harmful to children.

@BBCLookNorth @ShefUniNews @AirRated_ @granthamcsf @CivilSheffield @Jwheydon So annoying how at the end that guy's false claims ("there's no problem") go unchallenged

@BBCLookNorth @ShefUniNews @AirRated_ @granthamcsf @CivilSheffield @Jwheydon Well done Rohit for saying stoves ‘should absolutely be banned in cities’. Too few scientists are willing to say this in the media. As for ‘stoves are not a problem’ if you use them correctly… this is false and deserves a complaint to the BBC for having it in the edit.
