The day I truly started respecting Messi was the 2011 UCL final. He completely dismantled Manchester United. Back then, United were almost untouchable in the league —they could go two goals down and still come back to win with 30 minutes left. Yet players I admired like Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidić, and Park Ji-sung looked ordinary that night because they were up against Messi.
