php started life as a template engine, so it handles this kind of thing really nicely. You can use emojis in constants also - basically anywhere.

Unicode tokens, we have known about this for years, but chose to blot it out of our minds in case people started using them. Of course, not every language uses ascii letters, so it’s great for them.

Yeah you could also code with any characters (Japanese, Emoji,…) as long as they are valid chars and not reserved words
