Interest rates went above 15% in the 70"s and we had stagflations, this is no growth with high unemployment. Young people today don't know how good they have it

Many people lived in abject poverty in the 1960s and 70s with outside toilets and no running water. I have much sympathy for young people trying to buy houses, but honestly this is ill informed rubbish. £40 or £50 quid in the 60s was big money.

@Bornawoman99 Ageist nonsense The 60’s & 70’s were bloody tough for so many families and most working class ppl couldn’t afford to buy a house. It was thatcher who destroyed the housing market in the 80’s and drove house prices up. Also drove the desire to buy instead of rent. 🤦♀️
