My husband & I were discussing this tonight. We STILL romanticize “giving the bride away” & “Who gives this woman to this man?”-and the bride’s FATHER is expected to declare “I DO”, before he passes her hand over….at AN ALTER! People really forget a vagina meant ownership.

It was just an extremely tone-deaf line that should have not made the song at all. No one is saying Taylor lacks a moral compass, but I wished someone would have advised her to change the lyrics before the release. 💡 It's not too late. So many artists after being asked via social outcry, have changed their lyrics after release. She has time to do so. 🙏🏾🌱
