I’m not “ban all guns”. There are solid arguments for RESPONSIBLE civilian ownership of firearms as force equalizers for the physically weak; excellent as stand-off weapons. But we don’t do “responsible”. And there’s little justification for high rate of fire mass casualty guns.

I’ve finally figured out that the Sokoto governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto is just very expressive in the way he speaks. People always say he’s a “man of nitty gritty” with his words, and at first I thought it was just for effect. But the more I listen, the more it feels intentional. He breaks things down, puts emphasis where it matters, so you actually understand the context and don’t miss the point. What started as me brushing it off as “too much talk” is making sense to me now. Like joke like joke, I’ve become a fan.
