I just don’t think the rangers (and myself as a fan) are going to be ok with paying Corey the amount he’s owed if he’s only DH’ing. If he truly cannot play the field they need to trade him

Or just trade Seager (who has a full no-trade clause starting next season). All love but he’s injury-prone & expensive. Get off that contract while you still can & get some youth in return. Duran, Lopez, Smitty, & Foscue can hold down the middle-infield.

According to a recent article, Seager doesn’t sound open to changing positions. Pair that with a massive contract, missing roughly a third of the season on average, hitting below .200 this year, and not exactly being viewed as a team-first leader, and it’s a hard pass for me.

Let’s see. 1) They currently hold a playoff spot. 2) They’re tied for 7th best record in MLB over the past 2 months. 3) They’re 1.5 games behind a first round bye, and 4 behind NYY for 2nd best record in AL 3) Have been without their 2 best players most of the way 4) Should get their best players back soon. You could consider this and choose to forfeit the season in exchange for maybe a prospect with a ceiling of 4th outfielder, or you could be serious. 🤷‍♂️
