Demi Lovato literally collaborated with the Jonas Brothers to write "La La Land," a song about staying true to yourself despite the pressures of Hollywood. She was calling out Hollywood's fake expectations at the very start of her career and doing it under the Disney umbrella. The music video even featured the entire Sonny With a Chance cast to help promote the show. Trying to erase Demi from Disney Channel's golden era is just rewriting history, y'all. It's also one of my favorite Demi songs ever. The message was way ahead of its time, and keep in mind she was only 15 years old when she made it. Her impact during her Disney years should never be underestimated. When Demi had her moment, she absolutely owned Disney. You can never erase the mark she left on that era. She is by far one of, if not, the strongest singer to came out from Disney Channel and I stand by that statement 🤷

Even foreigners are noticing how anti-American Disney has become “I just want to express my disappointment with Disney on the 4th of July. So we're here at Disney Hollywood and there is zero, and I mean zero, acknowledgement of 4th of July. This is America 1- what the hell is going on? Disney, you need to sort yourself out I don't normally put things like this up, but I feel like the patriotism in Disney is just not there, and it's very disappointing — Even when I've spoken to a cast member and said, "Happy Fourth of July," they just grunted at me. I remember during HLA...after the last screening, when they officially signed off Joy and Ethan..we never really saw them together again until BFS. All that sweetness we watched before? The skydiving in Dubai, the hugs… gone. Just like that. In BFS, their interactions were suddenly very casual. And that’s when it hit me..the real issue with fans is that we romanticize everything. Every move, every look, every statement during promo season..we take it to heart. But in real life? That’s all it was. PROMO. Did anyone actually think Dustin would be okay with two guys openly liking Bianca? That Bianca would say it’s fine to fall for two men? That Will genuinely liked Bianca in real life? When even before all of that, Dustin was the only one consistently around her? From KathDen, I learned one thing.. during promo season, they could say even the oddest things like "matamis ang hilaw na manga" para lang makabenta.. Its up to us to spot whats true and what's not. These two could easily milk their situation if they wanted to. Most loveteams would. They could feed the hype, keep people talking, and chase every bit of clout...especially since they're together most of the time anyway. But they don't. Dustin and Bianca don't seem interested in playing that game... To me, it feels like they genuinely want to have a normal relationship when the cameras are off. They know when it's work. They know when it's fan service. And they know when it's simply THEIR LIFE... I actually admire that. Sometimes I even feel like we're unintentionally asking too much from them. We want updates. We want photos. We want videos. We want crumbs everyday. But maybe... that's exactly what they're trying to avoid... PRESSURE... And honestly, it makes sense. Imagine looking at this and thinking these two were supposed to be rivals off-screen. They just couldn't be, they were practically inseparable during their Disney Channel days. It's honestly crazy that they had to deal with that kind of public scrutiny and a manufactured rivalry when they were only 12 or 13 years old. God, I hate how the media pushed that narrative. Also, this song is an absolute banger, and I'll always stand by the fact that Shake It Up was one of the best things to come out of Disney Channel.
