There should be extra penalties for these types of crimes...ride-share services are a public service and the drivers should have extra protection with enhanced penalties for assault on them.

More details have emerged surrounding Playboi Carti reportedly being charged with assault in Utah for attacking his girlfriend and a limo driver earlier this month. Now Carti is being accused of threatening to shoot the chauffeur. On Monday (Oct. 20), TMZ obtained 911 dispatch audio connected with the incident. In the clip, a police officer can be heard exchanging info on the crime with an emergency dispatcher. "We just spoke with [the limo driver] Carl," the officer says. "He's still at that address. The suspect that punched him got in another vehicle...he went down River Road. We are going to try and find him. Apparently, he's threatened to hit and shoot that driver, too. So we are going to try to catch him." TMZ broke the news on Oct. 18 that Carti was in legal trouble in Utah, following the alleged assault, which occurred on Oct. 2. Carl Reynolds, a driver for A Limousine Connection in Utah, told authorities he was transporting Carti and crew from Waldorf Astoria in Park City, Utah, to rehearsals for The Antagonist 2.0 Tour when he witnessed the Atlanta rapper punch his girlfriend in the chest following a heated argument. The driver stopped the car and asked Carti’s security to have the rhymer ride in a different vehicle. The request allegedly resulted in Carti punching the driver. Carti was reportedly charged with misdemeanor assault because of the incident.
