Europe as a whole does not have a fully independent, sovereign space-based early warning system yet, but it is far from defenseless. NATO, which includes most European countries integrates with U.S. early warning assets, including upgraded early warning radars in Europe and shared data from U.S. systems. France and the UK also have their own national nuclear deterrents and contribute to alliance warning capabilities.

Europe needs its own Churchill, someone who will say clearly and without indecision and ambiguity: we must unite, we must have our own armed forces, because the security of Europe is, in fact, Europe’s responsibility. Europe should be grateful to President Trump for finally demonstrating that the world is nothing like many politicians imagined it. Europe is mature enough to take responsibility for its own security, including its nuclear security. If Europe wants to remain an actor in the world rather than the object of others’ decisions, it must have strong armed forces, including a nuclear component, and move forward. 📹: PM of Belgium Bart de Wever: I don't believe that Europe as a whole, with its 27 member states, can move towards military unification. Full membership in the European Union is a complicated process that cannot guarantee quick integration of defense capabilities. Those are the reasons why the most effective instrument could be to look for some new instrument that would concentrate specifically on the integration of all the European defence capabilities. That is why we need the European Defence Union, which would allow to integrate defense capabilities of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Norway with those of willing European Union member states.
