He entered the Opponents tent intentionally to provoke a reaction and brought a knife because he was going to intentionally provoke to get a reaction. He got the reaction...the team telling him to leave and eventully he was pushed, giving him the reaction he craved. His CHOICE to enter the others team area and his CHOICE to instigate a Confrontation and his CHOICE to bring a knife and his CHOICE to stab someone... has resulted in him being in Court and hopefully results in a long prison sentence.

Anthony literally admitted 'I did it' on bodycam footage played in court. He walked into the opposing team's tent with a knife, ignored 15+ requests to leave, said 'touch me,' got pushed once, then stabbed a kid to death. That's not self-defense that's bringing a knife to a track meet and choosing violence. Justice for Austin Metcalf. Life in prison is too kind. No excuses, no riots

Nobody brought knives to a track meet when I was in high school. But we did know who was going to steal our gear if they had a chance. That's the second reason that didn't want him in their tent.
