Tanzania turns from crypto warnings to crypto rules The Bank of Tanzania (Bank of Tanzania) is finalizing its first regulatory framework for crypto, stablecoins, and virtual assets, per Governor Emmanuel Tutuba. The study is done. Now it waits on government sign-off. This is the same central bank that told citizens to stay away in 2019. Since then: a 3% tax on digital asset transfers, and in May it approved a pilot for nTZS, a stablecoin backed 1:1 by the Tanzanian shilling. No timeline yet. But the direction across East Africa is one way. Who formalizes first?

Nigeria's central bank opens a sandbox track for crypto firms Applications run from Wednesday to August 31 through the CBN's portal. The virtual asset track covers stablecoins, payments, settlement, custody and wallets under supervised live testing. The CBN (Central Bank of Nigeria) says a sandbox place is not a license to operate outside agreed parameters. It follows a July executive order putting the central bank in charge of coordinating crypto rules.

A year ago crypto businesses in Pakistan couldn't open a bank account. Today the Prime Minister is personally directing the full operationalization of the virtual assets framework and pushing AI training for youth in the same conversation. Kudos to Bilal bin Saqib MBE! Proud!

"Good f*cking morning," says a Ukrainian man as he wakes up and looks outside his window in central Kharkiv. 2 Russian missiles struck the city center, killing a 10-year-old boy and wounding dozens of people. No military targets, just the daily dose of Russian terror

Nandalal was wrong to make this statement and says complaints have been directed to the current EC, says former election commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya. So it's no longer just a layman's opinion that the Central Bank Governor is playing politics for Ranil. #SriLanka #lka
