this is a fearmongering campaign probably by the same people who develop the LLMs. not AI advancements are the danger but the people behind them like amodei, altman, karp and zuckerberg. i am not saying AI isn't dangerous for the humanity. it's just obviously an orchestrated campaign.

to mitigate the dangers of AI one would need to revert the technological progress at least by 2 centuries. the technological progress is evil on it's own. and as long as people and nations are fighting each other, someone will always want to have an absolute advantage over the enemy. the problem with this particular post by Jacob is that it is blowing up because of his alleged involvement in research at anthropic and openai (and probably because it is getting pushed by a massive campaign). but he doesn't mention what exactly is so dangerous that he learned working there, what exactly are the dangers. book shelves are full with AI Armageddon hysteria. not to speak of terminator movies. we all know the possible dangers or heard about them. but what exactly is specifically Jacob referring to? I think anyone with the ability to think independently would be suspicious of this post. Fear is one of the essentials instruments to manipulate people. People should know this by now.

I’m not gonna lie, AI advancing this fast scares me too. I believe AI can be incredible when we use it within limits, but the problem is there will always be people who push way past those limits. And that’s where things get scary. The technology isn’t the only thing we need to control. We need to control how far we’re willing to take it.
