@jkenney did not provide any real reason for Alberta to stay, even worse he’s asking Albertans to accept more of the same.

Listening to people wax poetic about "what a country is" and why we should preserve the status quo, is like listening to someone argue for continuing to eat their favorite brand of cereal even after the factory changed the recipe and replaced the wholesome ingredients with artificial fillers "because it reminds them of their childhood and the way it tasted back then". No. You need to get over your nostalgia, this crap is toxic and its time to find a new brand of cereal.

I listened. Jason Kenney did better than I expected. He won the debate on emotion and speaking skills. Keith Wilson won the debate on logic. I think he was particularly effective on "why do we always have to fight Ottawa?" Jason Kenney was particularly effective on : "the separatists don't have a plan." Keith Wilson was effective in noting the federalists don't seem to have much of a plan to win within Canada, either. I think that Jason Kenney was being disingenuous with regards to passports and air flights. This isn't the first time a region has gone independent. All in all, no knockout. I'd give the winner laurels to Keith Wilson but not by a huge margin.

Thar was awesome. Passion on both sides, but Keith is right: the Federalists only have fear, not hope. I also want to mention the moderator was SUPERB. Cutting off someone in the middle of a point, is rude. He went with the flow, and kept it moving along without interrupting.
