Notice how you actually improve at Arkham's combat, chase combo streaks, and solve puzzle-like bosses? Meanwhile, Wolverine’s combat has no high-score concept, and the bosses are just damage sponges with PS1-tier behavior patterns.

Arkham games are my childhood, and I don't see this as a problem. Not a criticism, but you CAN mostly mash your way through. Even DMC5 lets you do that, but if you want to look cool and get higher ratings, you need to do more

This lools great. Still does after all these years, but I fail to see what makes Wolverine's gameplay worse. I could just as easily make bad faith takes about this gameplay if I wanted to. Wolverine's gameplay looks far mlre viceral which is what I want from a Wolverine game.

This game lets you do an alley oop team takedown on enemies with the Batmobile. It's automatically the best superhero game just for that.

I played this game. I like this game. This is the repetitive gameplay that ppl complain about. This is two buttons and on top of it it warns u when to parry (very hand holdy). Not a knock on it but ppl are hypocrites

How is this different from wolverine’s gameplay?

What made these games was the entire package. Great atmosphere. Story. Open World elements. Side quests. Top Tier VAing. Designs. Easter eggs. Graphics. OST etc etc. The combat was serviceable and cool for the Batman power fantasy.

Arkham sequels had a ton of combo possibilities, but most players just stuck with the basic punch & evade tactics. Original game had great flow to the combat, it was about landing those counters right. Arkham combat system was great stuff, anyone knocking it is ignorant af
