Air +0°C Road (surface) -1°C 😅🤌 Bike path surface probably a bit colder since there's much less friction warming it up.

How do you keep traction if it’s freezing rain? Studded tires?

No need for studded tires, although some people do use them. Maintenance, in this case there's a little bit of fine gravel & sand on the surface. Previously the snowy surface had been kept very thin and scraped off right away when needed.

There has been a mega traffic jam on Lake Baikal for the third day, nearly 100 kilometers long, with about 10,000 cars stuck, reports Baza. Some drivers have run out of food and water supplies and are asking others for help. Rescuers are delivering gasoline to those freezing and have also set up a temporary shelter for 549 people in a local school. The jam is not clearing due to irresponsible drivers driving into oncoming traffic. In some sections, drivers have been stationary for 7–8 hours. To avoid worsening the situation, truck traffic has been restricted on the highway.
