It’s kinda Apple/ChatGPT/Google Lens all wrapped in one

yeah i played around with a bit more. chat: chatGPT search: essentially google lens text detection: apple (?) overall, nothing we haven't seen before. will be interesting to see how it progresses when it's out of beta.

really?

its gpt for text, google for similar photo search, and everything else will come in a few years LOL

They’re too lazy.

So I can just download ChatGPT on older device together with Google lens and = Apple AI

disappointed there’s no maps integration like the demo

Nice touch with photo animation based on depth

it’s giving humane

No. Don’t be silly, you! It’s a GPT and google search wrapped

No sound?

my phone's set to silent, but afaik there's only a sound with activating siri, not visual intelligence.

How do you even set it up

Will do more in another version

Yes. And it took 2 years for Apple to get here. Sad times.

Apple’s API wrapper > your API wrapper

How do u do it on 15 pro max

it's only available on the 16 series since it's accessed through the camera control button.

Openai is not even making money out of it—only advertising.

God Apple really need to train their own World Knowledge models and directly compete with Google & OpenAI There’s something so jarring with the ChatGPT responses, not being in line with the UX expectations of Siri

It’s all about convenience. ever since iOS 18.2 beta I have not needed to use the ChatGPT app nor the Google app for the features that I’m getting from visual intelligence 😌

I don’t think it could ever be on device so it will only be via the Apple cloud compute or by ChatGPT. So I’m not sure what you’re saying. Obviously, as cloud compute gets better it will handle more. ChatGPT is also not scraping your data like Google is. So more privacy.

Yes. It was clear from WWDC.

And what’s wrong with that 🤔

Do you need to have a subscription for that

Google lens wrapper.
