If you have to constantly explain that Carnival is ‘mostly peaceful’, then perhaps it isn’t actually that peaceful.

When you need 7,000 police officers in one place to maintain the law and order, that is not a carnival. That is actually a public disorder. No government should encourage public disorder like this.

1.5 million people estimated attended London Pride this year. None of this shit happens. (You might not like that event etc. but for comparison purposes it's a similar London street closure, non-ticketed event.)
