If you want to die for your religion… By all means, go ahead. If you need to kill for your religion… You’re in the wrong religion.

This goes out to all those white straight people who ask why queer people need Pride, why we ask for safe spaces, why we 'push our agenda'. Because hateful Christian people kill so many of us every year.

Justice for O’Shae Rest well ❤️‍🩹 There is no such thing as a conpletely harmless irrational belief.

Sadly, in this overall section of Brooklyn, just about a month ago, a sitting Assemblyman, Alec Brook-Krasny spewed homophobic rants for days. There was almost no comment from other electeds. While an individual hate crime, certainly not absent encouragement these days.

I dislike religion for this very reason. There is nothing worst then people thinking they are doing God’s will.🤬

The murder suspect claimed to be Muslim, but I’m pretty darned sure that stabbing someone who offends your sensibilities is not part of the faith.

Religion seems more and more to just be a weapon these days.

No religion says that if someone doesn't follow it to kill them. It may say they'll be judged by a good or suffer eternal damnation per say but never is the punisher meant to be us.

I'm so sick and tired of these people and Republicans trying to tell us that we must live the way they all deem is acceptable. Leave us the fuck alone and mind your damm business. #HumanRights

This is so incredibly sad! 😢😢😢I can just imagine what his family is going thru. These hate crimes are never going away, they have gotten worse over the years. What can we do to change this? I wish we had an answer. 😢

The religious zealotry around the world by these two religions is definitely getting out of control.

If anyone is assuming religion is personal then they are grossly mistaken. Nice theoretical gab with no understanding of how religions degraded societies and dehumanized ordinary people. Only some part of western countries had truly secular open space, and that is fast depleting.

We'll know who he is soon enough, he's a minor and they are still going through process. He'll end up tried as an adult and then we'll get all the info.

They shouldn't do gay dancing, wearing gay skimpy clothes, in public, because it will offend others. So the Muslim had a right to tell them to stop. But in video I seen sibley physically attack the muslim youth first and Muslim youth reacted with the stabbing.

This makes me so mad! Religions are the enemies of the people. That may sound harsh but I'm sick and tired of religious people and their self-righteous attitude.

Isn’t it ironic that people like this become indignant at things they’re uncomfortable with, while claiming to be believers of a sacred religion? They’ll murder bc of their ideology, while selectively ignoring the part that says, “thou shalt not kill.”
