Reposting this in light of THE ENTIRE REMAINING SCIENCE DEPARTMENT BEING LAID OFF. Edited by Tsuseven

What just happened to their SCIENCE department is making me ABSOLUTELY LIVID. I'm just thankful that I still have all my images from when I went in Dec 2023. But, man, this just, augh!

I wish I had had the time to go one more time before it closed. 😭

Every time I go to another science place (like Vancouver's Science World), there's a small tinge of anger at what happened to the OSC

It’s just heartbreaking man

It’s so dystopian the way it was shut down

the old one was fine, the new one was never needed

I didn't know about the semester in science center but I loved the science center and it is a shame that this stuff had occurred.

Semester 57 represent

You went a few years before I did!

Hard to overstate how impactful that program was and absolutely shameful it no longer exists. Thanks for making the clip and bringing me back

Our province really went downhill 😫

I have one of these little guys from when I went there

I loved going there so much 😭

That sounds awesome I would have loved to take science and math classes at an actual science center. Having teachers that could know more then the teacher at the school no offense. That would make me sad too

I remember going there with family, i vividly remember the stell drums and the soundless hallway... other than that i would have loved to go back and experience it all again

I'm thankful I got to experience the science center at least once, it was an amazing experience and I'm gonna miss the place 😔

Thats so upsetting. Rip another marvel for the sake of micro pe- i mean condos :<

the key word are "somewhere" it happened years ago and its still planned to be cue the Yoriko Nikaido meme "somewhere". we know there the spa is going, we know where the casino was going to go, we know where the new adult entertainment site is though.

Growing up in one of the other cities in Ontario it was more so the Canada Science and Technology Museum or as I used to call it the Train Museum where I learned to love science which luckily is still around. But I did learn important stuff at the OSC. They had a marvel exhibit

As a Canadian and an engineer, I felt betrayed at its closure.

MY CHILDHOOD

Oh girl. We have a museum of natural science and history that I grew up with, if they tried to turn it into Condos I would turn into Venom, literally.

Fellow Ontarian! God I remember hearing about this, absolutely devastating. I have such fond memories here too...

The second visit to the Science Center years ago, my class got a first hand example of perpetual motion from Bill Nye, it made me love the concept of physics and the momentum, later developed into a deep appreciation of animation. So, hooray for micro condo's I guess

By the lakeshore where it’ll have a new issue too… flooding! Yayyyy……… I’m so tired of Ford-

FELLOW CANADIAN FOUNDDDDDD!!!

SAVE HER!

As a fellow torontonian this shit hit hard, I even remember there was a school trip where we got to sleep over there for a night with my dad and it was amazing, it's gonna always hold a spot in my heart. Also W posted had to follow 🫡

I'm not even from Ontario and I'm pissed off.

Still one of the best places to visit when I was a kid.

Wtf... *Sigh*... This makes me sad. We need science

I remember going there on field trips and trips with my family as a child, we still have pictures of our hair all fuzzy from that ball! Hearing what happened now though is kinda sad, that place had a lot of memories with people...

I remember the Ontario Science Center, but when I attended smart phones didn't exist... So they didn't give us one. But I took biology and chemistry there.

i was there when i was a kid toooo!!!

I have such good memories of the science center.

Hell yeah! I used to take students every year, and would make an "informational scavenger hunt" the week before, allowing the students to just run around and learn. And the OMNIMAX movies were (usually) so so good

The double whammy this was. Immediately wished we had something this cool in the US, only to learn this is no more, my heart breaks.
