"busts fives myths" about migration. The problem is, she is not addressing people's actual concerns: 1. People have no issue with people who come legally to work in Ireland. People have issues with migrants who become dependents of the State and do *not* contribute. 2. The idea that Ireland is not "full" is kind of ridiculous. Clearly, Ireland's housing infrastructure is not even adequate for its own citizens. Geographically, of course Ireland could accommodate twice its population. But until houses are built and health services are expanded, promoting more immigration is irresponsible. 3. She says all migrants are checked in an orderly fashion, yet people know that by the government's own admission, deportation orders have not been enforced (they're called "self-deportation"), and we know that at least some immigrants destroy their passports before arriving in the country. So let's at least be honest about the fact that the immigration system in Ireland has been wide open to abuse.
