The WR slowed his route inside the five. If he keep running he had a better chance at catching it.

Last angle looked like the WR slowed down.

This how narratives get started. Tell what really happened. The WR clearly stopped running. Keep running and you had a TD at worse a chance for the ball.

For the “the WR slowed down” fields defenders The ball landed 2 yards from the back of the endzone, the only other option would to be make a diving catch, at which point he be several yards away still

seen way too much of this as a bears fan. he is not good

The receiver also slowed down, likely would have been a completion if he keeps running.
