So I drew and calculated one entirely by hand. Goal: normalize a mini-batch of 4 examples to mean 0 and variance 1, then let the network scale it back. = 1. Given = A mini-batch of 4 training examples, each with 3 features. = 2. Linear layer = Let us multiply by the weights and add the biases. Batch norm sits after this, which answers the second question: what gets normalized is features, not inputs, weights or biases. = 3. ReLU = We apply the activation, and -2 becomes 0. Negative values are suppressed before any statistic is taken. = 4. Batch statistics = Let us compute the sum, mean, variance and standard deviation, one row at a time. A row is a feature and the four columns are the four examples, so every number here measures one feature against the rest of the batch. 49ers just wrapped up Block 2 of camp with a reminder of how good Brock Purdy is — even without his top 3 WR (Evans/Stribling injuries are NOT serious), Purdy's offense managed some crisp success: 🏈Demarcus Robinson was Purdy's favorite WR, reminiscent of when 49ers beat Philly with a skeleton crew. The deep out was the duo's bread and better 🏈Best play: Excellent one-handed catch from TE Brayden Willis on a corner route from Mac Jones. 🏈Deommodore Lenoir had two more PBUs — including one on a Purdy-Robinson deep out. CB1 been very active this camp and said this morning on KNBR that he's as locked in as ever 🏈6-3 rookie CB Ephesians Prysock notched a nice reaching PBU vs 5-9 Junior Bergen. 🏈Speaking of Bergen, he's making quite a few plays on offense and I wouldn't be quick to discount him in the punt return battle. FWIW, Bergen has made more offensive plays than Jacob Cowing, with whom he may be in a battle for a 53-man spot 🏈49ers did some red-zone work today where safety Ji'Ayir Brown had a nice, athletic PBU in the corner against TE Jake Tonges. Jordan Watkins later caught a TD from Jones in the corner 🏈New RB Khalil Herbert is wearing No. 40. He dished out some real contact on his first run — at 212 but just 5-9, Herbert is not a player defenders enjoy running in to. He'll be in the KR mix alongside Deebo Samuel — "hell yeah, let's go!" was Boyer's reaction to the Deebo signing 🏈LB Nick Martin dropped what should've been an easy INT from Kurtis Rourke, but he was in correct position. Later he made a nice stop on a Kyle Juszczyk catch 🏈Team drills started with a nice CMC run (he's had a handful already). And yes, as I've stated already and will discuss more, rookie Jaden Dugger worked with the thinned-out DE group for the first time. He did notch a would-be sack. I doubt it's the same video that we both watched. Let's actually micro-analyse this since you wanna. Frame 1: 1) That girl was taking forward steps towards her camera when he reached out and nudged her. "Excuse me" would have been enough. Why did he have to nudge her? Also, watch his step count and the angle of his body to his hand, and you'd realise that he had enough space to pass in that very moment. 2) She said, "Can you imagine." I didn't hear the part of "who does he think he is"; but even if she did say that, since when did "who does he think he is" become a crime deserving of harassment? 3) Remember, by this man's own very account, he stated that he grabbed her hand when she refused to hand over her phone. If you're speaking of assault, then that's where the said assault started. He had absolutely no right to attempt to take her phone, NO MATTER WHAT. There are several legitimate avenues to address an errant behaviour from a student. He chose to go that route because he believed that as far as the school environment is concerned, he is the Lord of the Manor. 4) Watching the video in frame 2, you can clearly see the man dragging her by her cloth; and considering how low-cut her dress is, you can clearly see that her entire breast was completely exposed the way he held her. This video also clearly shows that she only held him back after he refused to let go of her. 5) Lastly, I put EVERY blame on this man because he had very many chances to de-escalate this situation as the elder there. While he was walking past that girl, for a split second, he looked into the camera. He was very aware that he was caught on video. He had no problems with it until he overheard the girl's snide comment. He could have kept moving. Returning there just because a (likely) 19 year old said a few words he didn't like was merely him insulting himself. Then, for those who have continued to vouch for the man being a "gentleman," let me just make this clear: no true gentleman would be found in such a situation. The problem with Nigerians is that because we've become so used to abnormalities, we don't know what is normal anymore. Put that man side by side with a true gentleman & you'll realise he's just a quiet rascal.

Frank easily gets stressed and he has to stop turning to food in those moments, especially when he’s alone. He’s been crushing his walks and exercise. He’s the lightest he’s been since the 1990’s and he is capable of doing things he never thought was possible. For example, catching a pass from Eli Manning last week and running down a football field. Best of all, it is inspiring others. Here’s our 3-part progression: #1. 12 Seconds of Hell A continuous 4sec–4sec–4sec rep to teach layered ball pressure: 4 sec of ball tracing: hand above the ball (not across body), pressure passers, pop back on rips. 4 sec of live dribble: small space containment, stunt and recover. 4 sec of dead ball pressure: vocal pressure “DEAD DEAD DEAD,” limit vision, force back foot passes. #2. Man in the Middle A simple drill that goes back to childhood. 2 passers, 15 ft apart. No overhead passes. Defender must slap the ball to start each on-ball rep. If they force a deflection, errant pass, or movement from the receiver → passer is in the middle on defense. #3. Fake Game 1v1 with only 1 or 0 dribbles. The problem judging GM Chris Grier is clearly to SOME degree Miami is talented. And now as frustrations w/ Mike McDaniel sharpen a little, we ask how Miami consistently beats the bad teams? Here's how: - They've had a good QB (when healthy). - They've had a bigger budget! Regardless of what you think about Tua Tagovailoa's ability to stay healthy, he is clearly a good QB and that buys you a lot in this league. He won with that circus show of offensive staff mismanagement under Brian Flores. He won with a more coherent staff under Mike McDaniel. He won with his offensive coordinator being changed every year since high school. He won with his offensive coordinator being stable for three years running. He won while never being asked to throw deep, then he won while being asked to throw deep more aggressively than literally every other QB in the league. And now he's winning while never being asked to throw deep again. He won learning from Ryan Fitzpatrick to just "throw it up" to zero separation vertical guys like Devante Parker and Mike Gesicki, and now he wins by pitting the ace to with max anticipation to road runners like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. He won using Jaylen Waddle like O.J. McDuffie and he won using Jaylen Waddle like Alvin Harper. He won throwing the ball to WRs to the near exclusion of RBs and TEs at Alabama and in his first years with McDaniel. And now his leading receivers are RB De'Von Achane and TE Jonnu Smith. He won with his RBs combining for 27 rushing TDs with a league-leading YPC, and he won with his RBs scoring only 11 or 12 TDs and having piss poor efficiency. The fact of the matter is Miami has had a bigger effective budget than almost any other team in the sport over the last 5 years. They were given the green light on a Tank Season in 2019. Like declaring Bankruptcy, they retired all cap accruals and started fresh with zero cap debt. And just 5 years later they probably rank 4th or 5th in the entire league in cash that has already been paid out to players but has yet to be expensed against the salary cap. Think about that for a minute. There are other teams out there, e.g. the Saints and Eagles, who have a massive amount of cap debt. But they have been rolling & massaging that cap debt for a decade-plus, with people like Khai Harley and Howie Roseman keeping them on the leading edge of creative financialization of the salary cap. Miami reached their level of debt in only 5 years after their tank season. They've had an operating budget effectively 20% larger than your average NFL team. They have the Yankees budget. Add on top their fortunes from the Laremy Tunsil trade, and yes Miami has been able to amass talent...because they had a LOT to spend. Do they win over and above what Lady Luck dealt them in terms of QB choices in 2020? Do they win consistent with their league-leading budget over the last 5 years? What are they left with going forward? The oldest Defense in the NFL, and an offense that needs a line rebuild.
