Scottie Scheffler was asked ahead of the Masters if he’s surprised himself with how quickly he became the best player in the world and not only did he give a great answer, but he also explained why pathways are so important: “I mean, that's a good question. I think it's a hard one to answer. I always had faith and belief in myself, but I didn't -- I never told myself I want to win these tournaments. I always just had what I feel like were dreams and aspirations, and I feel like I had the talent to be able to accomplish certain things. “I never really kind of thought this far ahead. I dreamed of having a chance to win the Masters tournament, and I'm fortunate to have been able to have done that twice. Did I imagine that? I imagined myself winning, and I was hopeful I could accomplish that, but I didn't set out, when I came off the Korn Ferry Tour, you know what, I'm going to get to No. 1 in the world. I'm going to win this many majors. I'm going to win this many tournaments. “It was more taking it a step at a time. My manager was a big part of that as I turned pro. When I turned pro, I kind of went through all the steps. I tried some Monday qualifiers for the Korn Ferry Tour. I played some mini tour events to stay sharp. I went through Q-School, went through Korn Ferry Tour, and then I got out on the PGA Tour. Everything for me was step by step. “The year I played on the Korn Ferry Tour, I had some opportunities to come out here and play on the PGA Tour, but my manager and I kind of spoke about just being -- you can only be on the Tour where you're at, and our goal that year was to continue to play good golf, focus on the Korn Ferry Tour, develop, get better, and then get ready for the PGA Tour. “We just kind of took everything step by step, so I never really looked that far ahead, to be honest with you.” Scottie Scheffler’s rise to the top happened fast but he had to work his way up from the bottom tiers of professional golf. He turned pro in 2018 after graduating and played Monday Qualifiers for the Korn Ferry Tour, he then earned a card via Q School for 2019. That year he was Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year and earned a PGA Tour card for the 2019/20 season where he was rookie of the year. He then made his Ryder Cup debut in 2021, beating the then world number 1 Jon Rahm in the singles. That gave him the confidence to go on and win 3 times in early 2022 to overtake Jon and become world number 1 himself. He then won the 2022 Masters by 3 shots over Rory McIlroy becoming just the 5th player in history to don the green jacket as the best player in the world and he’s never looked back. Since the start of 2022 Scottie has won 25 times worldwide, including 4 majors, an Olympic gold medal and won The Players twice. He’s 3 legs towards the Career Grand Slam and looking to win his 3rd Masters title this week. He also has 16 top 10s in the 22 majors he’s played since 2020. Truly astonishing. Everything for me was step by step. “The year I played on the Korn Ferry Tour, I had some opportunities to come out here and play on the PGA Tour, but my manager and I kind of spoke about just being -- you can only be on the Tour where you're at, and our goal that year was to continue to play good golf, focus on the Korn Ferry Tour, develop, get better, and then get ready for the PGA Tour. “We just kind of took everything step by step, so I never really looked that far ahead, to be honest with you.” Scottie Scheffler’s rise to the top happened fast but he had to work his way up from the bottom tiers of professional golf. The tournament was decided early in the final round, there were no back nine roars, and no one really threatened Scheffler’s lead. In the past when Tiger Woods had those dominant tournaments the TV ratings did not suffer. On the contrary, sometimes they increased. There are four factors for the drop in TV ratings: 1. The lack of charismatic players at the top of that leaderboard, starting with the eventual winner Scottie Scheffler and followed by a Tour rookie with a wonderful game but not much personality. What the major golf organizations should do is stop the pettiness, move the egos to the side, ACCEPT that your industry is being disrupted (it was there for the taking, but you guys were asleep on the wheel), listen to what McIlroy and Jon Rahm Rodriguez have to say, and instead of dividing it further, get together in a room and solve this problem at ONCE (not in a year or two to see what happens or to wait for other investments like the TGL to get off the ground), do it for the good of the game! A lot has been said about the players greed and the money talks, but the major golf organizations and its leaders (Ridley, Tiger, Whan, Waugh, Slumbers, Kinnings, Monahan/Herlihy, et al.) are the greediest and most power hungry of them all, and are doing a disservice to the game of golf.

Remember when UnitedHealth's CEO was assassinated in 2024? 18 months later, every accusation the killer Luigi Mangione made has been proven RIGHT. UnitedHealth is one of the biggest corporate collapses in recent years. And they deserve it. In December 2024, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed outside a Hilton hotel in midtown Manhattan on his way to an investor meeting. The suspected shooter, Luigi Mangione, was carrying a notebook that accused the health insurance industry of being parasites who profit by denying people medical care. The shell casings found at the scene were engraved with the words "deny," "defend," and "depose." The public reaction was unlike anything corporate America had ever seen. People openly celebrated the killing online. UnitedHealth's stock dropped $110 billion in the weeks that followed. And then it got so much worse... In May 2025, CEO Andrew Witty suddenly resigned citing "personal reasons." Days later, the Wall Street Journal revealed that the DOJ's Healthcare Fraud Unit had been running a criminal investigation into UnitedHealth for over a year, focused on their Medicare Advantage business. Then The Guardian published an investigation based on thousands of internal records and over 20 current and former employees alleging that UnitedHealth placed its own medical teams in roughly 2,000 nursing homes and offered bonus payments tied to keeping residents OUT of hospitals, even when they needed urgent care. In at least two documented cases, residents showing stroke symptoms were advised against hospital transfers by UnitedHealth's remote providers. One suffered permanent brain damage. UnitedHealth says the DOJ previously investigated those specific nursing home allegations and declined to pursue them. They then sued The Guardian for defamation. But the whistleblowers, the internal records, and the congressional declarations tell a very different story, and multiple senators from both parties called for new federal investigations after the report dropped. A former UnitedHealth executive told The Guardian: "You gain profitability by denying care, and when profitability suffers for the shareholders, that's when people get crazy and do things that are not appropriate." On top of all this, UnitedHealth's subsidiary Change Healthcare suffered the largest ransomware attack in healthcare history, exposing the private medical records of 190 MILLION Americans. The company had to provide over $9 billion in emergency funding just to keep the healthcare system functioning. The stock went from an all-time high of $603 in November 2024 to $234 by August 2025. Over $250 billion in market value wiped out in less than a year. Warren Buffett saw the crash and thought it was a buying opportunity. Berkshire Hathaway bought $1.6 billion worth of UnitedHealth shares in August 2025, and the stock bounced 12% on the news alone. Yesterday, Berkshire disclosed that they dumped the entire position. Here's what really makes this story different from every other corporate scandal: Luigi Mangione wrote in his notebook that insurance companies are parasites who deny care to maximize profits. At the time, most of the media treated that as a crashout of a disturbed individual. Then a criminal fraud investigation confirmed the DOJ was looking into exactly that. The film in question was A Perfect Crime (1921). Although she tried for other acting jobs, she would not be seen onscreen again for four years. She returned to a normal life, going to school and participating in athletics, excelling in track and field. By age 15 she had had enough of school, though, and quit. She joined a theatre troupe and played in several stage shows, which were for the most part nothing to write home about. In 1925 she passed a screen test and was signed to a contract with Fox Films. Her first role as a Fox player was Hearts and Spurs (1925), in which she had the lead. Right after that film she appeared in a western called Durand of the Bad Lands (1925). She rounded out 1925 in the comedy Marriage in Transit (1925) (she also appeared in a number of two-reel shorts). In 1926 Carole was seriously injured in an automobile accident that resulted in the left side of her face being scarred. Once she had recovered, Fox canceled her contract. She did find work in a number of shorts during 1928 (13 of them, many for slapstick comedy director Mack Sennett), but did go back for a one-time shot with Fox called Me, Gangster (1928). By now the film industry was moving from the silent era to “talkies”. While some stars' careers ended because of heavy accents, poor diction or a voice unsuitable to sound, Carole's light, breezy, sexy voice enabled her to transition smoothly during this period. Her first sound film was High Voltage (1929) at Pathe (her new studio) in 1929. In 1931 she was teamed with William Powell in Man of the World (1931). She and Powell hit it off and soon married, but the marriage didn't work out and they divorced in 1933. No Man of Her Own (1932) put Carole opposite Clark Gable for the first and only time (they married seven years later in 1939). By now she was with Paramount Pictures and was one of its top stars. However, it was Twentieth Century (1934) that showed her true comedic talents and proved to the world what a fine actress she really was. In 1936 Carole received her only Oscar nomination for Best Actress for My Man Godfrey (1936). She was superb as ditzy heiress Irene Bullock. After being spotted playing baseball in the street with the neighborhood boys by a film director, Carole was signed to a one-picture contract in 1921 when she was 12. The film in question was A Perfect Crime (1921). Although she tried for other acting jobs, she would not be seen onscreen again for four years. But that was King Antiochus’s dream — to build a mountain where he could sit among deities, his power carved in stone and locked in an eternal staring contest with the horizon. Antiochus I ruled a state called Commagene that briefly flourished 2,000 years ago in a region north of Syria and the Euphrates River after the breakup of Alexander the Great’s empire. It was a place where Greek, Persian, Assyrian and Armenian traditions collided. Hoping to hold sway over the region even after death, Antiochus had his tomb constructed on Nemrut, flanked by stone figures representing the unique collage of mythologies that swirled around his kingdom. Antiochus himself was seated among them, rubbing shoulders with immortality. Time and nature had other ideas.
