The fare should have been paid as per the distance travelled and the company should have provided another vehicle to the customer

In the event the taxi breaks down mid way, passengers are not obligated to pay the fare. It would be nice to pay considering it is not Taxi driver fault but certainly it is up to the passenger depends on distance and conditions. This driver making video just negated all the goodwill.

Imagine I take a taxi to a house at the top of hills. The driver stops at the bottom and demands partial payment, leaving me stranded. On top of that, no other taxi will take me for the rest of the journey! This happened to me. So before making judgments, understand the full story from both sides!

I am not sure but I read this somewhere. An auto or taxi is not supposed to charge fare if they fail to drop the passenger to the agreed destination. Irrespective of whatever is the reason. If this is correct, the customer here is not at fault by not paying the fare.
