Extending TPS status to Venezuelans and stating a desire to show moral leadership in the region isn't tantamount or even similar to declaring war against a sovereign nation without congressional authorization. The legislature makes the law. The judiciary interprets it, and the executive enforces it. Let's not jump to any hasty conclusions. Was it good for the Venezuelans to remove Maduro? Absolutely. He was a monster who stole the election and violently oppressed his people. Was it legal? That's not so clear. Is it the United States job to arrest, prosecute, and incarcerate foreign criminals - at great cost and by placing American military lives at risk with no authorization from congress - absent clear and convincing evidence of material and demonstrable damage to the United States and widespread injury to American citizens, is another serious issue to be examined.
