This is what a neutral bridge asset solves. No country is required to trust the de facto USD as the bridge currency. The USD becomes a bridge currency, not the bridge currency. Same for the euro and yuan. BRICS can conduct business outside of the USD; however, should they need to settle with a U.S. institution, a European institution, or another currency bloc, neither side has to make the other’s sovereign currency the intermediary. I never give price predictions. I focus on explaining the mechanics of how certain price levels become structurally necessary. The US dollar became the world’s reserve currency because all the value needed for final settlement concentrated around it. That’s a fact. In this new tokenized digital economy, liquidity and final settlement are everything. And right now, the exact same concentration of value that lifted the dollar is happening around XRP.
