Brad seems like a calm and logical guy which explains why he never blended in with the weekly meltdown merchants at Essendumb

@kanecornes Is this serious! Coach says let go but isn’t listened to. Who was it that overruled the coach? Two things come from this. Scott had to go due to losing influence and the administration are a basket case.

Of course you would trade him Brad, just like how you got rid of experience players out of Essendon and previously North Melbourne. North are finally coming good post your tenure and EFC will rise again.

Bombers fans need to realise this guy was all for the benefit of the club and players

He was spot on. Still can’t believe they didn’t take that offer - not for the size of the offer from Hawthorn, but the absolute way he tried to force his way out. It wasn’t a request for a trade (Papley, Marshall etc), it was a demand…one he was prepared to risk it all for.

Seems far too sensible for the Essendon football club

The toxic Essendon board couldn’t deal with the idea of losing Merrett and selfishly forced him to stay. And it’s that same toxic shit that has kept the club spiralling for a decade. I’m an esssndon fan and clearly see Brad was the right man, there’s some weird pride or people stuck in the past at Essendon that keep them stuck

Doesn’t take long to turn on the club. Show some sort of character.

But if you ask the most deluded fan base in the comp they won the trade period because they kept a bloke who didn’t want to be there 💀💀💀💀

I still don’t think he’s that bad, Essendon list is fkn horrible, probably worst in the league.

Andrew Welsh is not working with individuals in the club. He is dangerously doing this on his own and on his own terms.

This feels like self-preservation from Brad He lost the players, couldn’t extract performance, and couldn’t get the group playing with identity or edge. That’s on the senior coach Blaming the Merrett call now doesn’t change the fact the football went backwards under his watch

Why didn’t you ask why he never coached from the bench to support his young brilliant stars?

Watching people be manipulated by the snake oil salesman Scott makes me realise why we keep electing scumbags as our leaders. There is no hope in this world

Also remember it was his idea to punt boomer when he was still one of the top performing players at north. He speaks well but the substance may not quite be there.

If anything is evident from that interview last night, it was that Brad Scott had the respect of the players, understood Merrit issue, and clearly had a vision, that the club originally agreed and then abandoned. Let the stupid Bombres return to the failed Hird coach.

Bloke goes against the club on everything. Merrett has been playing great for us this season. Everything he did hurt the club. Tips a bucket on our young players like Caddy or refuses to play them like Tsatas. Good riddance, I'm so glad hes gone!

The club cost Brad his job because they wouldn't listen to the coach. Stuck with a player that didnt want to be there while missing out on some 1st round Draft picks
