Executives hit the market with LIV Golf 2.0 last week, framing it as “built by the players, for the players.” It has an emphasis on player ownership, an increased schedule utilising national opens, but reduced purses. The schedule consists of 10 team events, and 8-10 national opens, with 5 “team majors” and 5 “team signature events”. The “majors” are to be played on 5 continents in line with the most successful events: Australia, South Africa, UK, Hong Kong and Mexico. And the signature events are to be hosted predominantly in the US, around the 4 major championships. The purse sizes is fluid and dependent on the new investors. From an extensive amount of sourcing, I expect them to be $15 million for 5 events and $10 million for the rest. With a potential weighting that distributes more money at the top of the leaderboard. A well placed LIV Golf source said: “We are very confident future purses will be above DP World Tour levels and player take home will be in line with the PGA Tour.” From sourcing within player ranks, the purse sizes are, obviously, one of the most important factors impacting their commitment. Several players suggested to me if the purses fall in line with the DP World Tour they probably wouldn’t stay. But at $10-$15 million it’s a different proposition. More clarity is needed though on both LIV Golf’s future and the new structure of the PGA Tour to get a better picture. I’ve spoken directly to at least a dozen players who told me they are fully committed to LIV Golf, and if it exists, they will be there. Bryson DeChambeau is leading that charge and it’s understating it to say he’s committed. He desperately wants LIV Golf to succeed and to build a global golf league that’s built for the 21st century. He’s thinking long term and his enthusiasm is truly infectious. But a big question is what will Jon Rahm do? It’s difficult to get any real feel of it as he didn’t do media outside press conferences. But he did answer my question on whether he was taking a similar role to Bryson in trying to secure investment and he replied, “I am not, no.” The full quote is on my timeline. I was told, however, that Jon had encouraged other players to avoid reading the media because of the amount of misinformation. There was also a Legion XIII hospitality area, where the GM, Jeff Koski, was hosting current and potential future partners while offering Imperial Gran Reserva, the Rioja that Jon served at his 2024 Masters Champions Dinner. The players will be given equity in the league itself or team franchises to encourage them to stay, further committing those taking this option to the success of the league’s future. The majority of the media rights will be returned to the players. Giving them the opportunity to build their own online brands on socials and sign personal partnerships. The size of the fields is unclear at this stage, but the shotgun start will continue, so the possibility of adding 2 more expansion teams to take the league to 15 franchises (60 players) would likely be top end. I fully expect them to utilise the Asian Tour pathways to fill many of the open spots, especially if players leave. That would help further appease the OWGR concerns and increase the ability to build their own stars. But sources were also confident they could attract established names with potential equity in the league. Multiple sources indicated that Fox Sports are ready to sign a new deal with LIV Golf as soon as the league is ready. LIV Golf are also working with networks on a potential broadcast model that incorporates TV viewership with YouTube and social media in an attempt to unlock revenue streams across digital IP. Brooks Koepka has spent the last 2 Signature Events waiting at the course as the first alternate for a potential spot in the field, but it didn’t come. He explained his motivation to do that ahead of the Myrtle Beach Classic: “So, listen, the way I look at it is I'm itching to get in, but I'm accepting of where I'm at, and I understand that there's prices to pay for coming back, and I'm willing to accept those and whatever I have to do. “I knew this year was going to be challenging to even get in them. I kind of thought maybe by around U.S. Open, but to know that I'm kind of knocking on the door already is a good thing. Just the answer to everything is play better, and you're in.” Then he followed up by talking about the opportunity this week in the opposite field event: “Yeah, no, it's a great opportunity. I think the stretch that I've got, I've got three in a row here. Hopefully I can improve on my position, my standing and see where it's at. Like I said, good golf takes care of everything else, and hopefully will be in them soon enough.” Brooks starts the first leg a of triple header with the PGA Championship next week and then the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. When Toshirô Mifune (三船敏郎) first auditioned for 'TOHO', he was about to be rejected by the selection committee. They felt his demeanour was disrespectful. Akira Kurosawa (黒澤明), who was impressed by his acting, intervened & proposed to change their evaluation method. The Rest is History. Akira Kurosawa reciting the above story in his own words: "IT’S NOT POSSIBLE for me to talk about 'Drunken Angel', which was released in 1948, without devoting some attention to the actor Mifune Toshiro. In June of 1946, in order to get into the spirit of postwar activity, Toho conducted open auditions to recruit new contract actors. Using the headline “Wanted: New Faces,” they got a tremendous number of applicants. On the day of the interviews and screen tests I was in the middle of the shooting of No Regrets for Our Youth, so I couldn’t participate in the judging. But during lunch break I stepped off the set and was immediately accosted by actress Takamine Hideko, who had been the star of Yamamoto Kajirō’s Horses when I was chief assistant director. “There’s one who’s really fantastic. But he’s something of a roughneck, so he just barely passed. Won’t you come have a look?” I bolted my lunch and went to the studio where the tests were being given. I opened the door and stopped dead in amazement. A young man was reeling around the room in a violent frenzy. It was as frightening as watching a wounded or trapped savage beast trying to break loose. I stood transfixed. But it turned out that this young man was not really in a rage, but had drawn “anger” as the emotion he had to express in his screen test. He was acting. When he finished his performance, he regained his chair with an exhausted demeanor, flopped down and began to glare menacingly at the judges. Now, I knew very well that this kind of behavior was a cover for shyness, but the jury seemed to be interpreting it as disrespect. I found this young man strangely attractive, and concern over the judges’ decision began to distract me from my work. I returned to my set and wrapped up the shooting early. Then I proceeded to look in on the room where the jury were deliberating. Despite Yamasan’s strong recommendation of the young man, the voting was against him. Suddenly I heard myself shouting, “Please wait a minute." The jury was made up of two groups: movie-industry specialists (directors, cinematographers, producers and actors) and representatives of the labor union. The two groups were equally represented. At that time the union was gaining in strength daily, and union representatives appeared wherever something was happening. Because of them, all decisions had to be made by voting, but I felt that for them to voice their opinions on the selection of actors was really going too far. Even the expression “going too far” doesn’t do justice to the suppressed anger boiling in me. I called for a time out. I said that in order to judge the quality of an actor and predict his future capacities you need the talents and experience of an expert. In the selection of an actor it isn’t right to equate the vote of an expert and the vote of a complete outsider. It’s like appraising a gemstone—you wouldn’t give a greengrocer’s appraisal the same weight you would a jeweler’s. In evaluating an actor, an expert’s vote should have at least three if not five times the weight of an amateur’s. I emphasized that I wanted a recount of the votes with more appropriate weight assigned to the experts’ opinions. The jury was thrown into an uproar. “It’s anti-democratic, it’s monopoly by directors!” someone shouted. But all of the production people on the jury raised their hands in approval of my suggestion, and even some labor-union representatives nodded their assent. I am actually shocked that institutions like NEF did not fund him. Who do they give their money too if they don't give it to honest hard working black people with a resume one can only dream off. In 2020, his big break came. With funding from a private equity firm, Avari Cars was born. A roaring success upon launch, the 100% black-owned premium dealership made waves in South Africa. However, shortly after opening the dealership Thembinkosi left to take time off and re-work the funding model. Also Covid. After returning to Audi and achieving more success, the issues were resolved, and Thembinkosi came back to Avari as MD and Co-founder. Thembinkosi appreciates the opportunity given to him by the Private Equity Firm and they are set to take the business to the next level… I cannot find a single 100% black owned dealership in South Africa like Avari. Today, Avari Premium Pre-Owned Dealership in Menlyn is thriving again. It stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and the potential of black entrepreneurship in South Africa. Politicians talk about supporting black businesses, talk, talk, talk. Lekotlas. All types of meetings but nothing comes off it. Tembinkosi is not going to bribe these institutions to get a loan. That's not how he works. Ethical and morals. Actions speak louder than words. Politicians talk but when genuine business want support they never help. Let’s support 100% black-owned businesses like Avari Cars. Exciting to note that they are moving to bigger premises nearly double the size. Thembinkosi appreciates the opportunity given to him by the Private Equity Firm and they are set to take the business to the next level… I cannot find a single 100% black owned dealership in South Africa like Avari. Today, Avari Premium Pre-Owned Dealership in Menlyn is thriving again. It stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and the potential of black entrepreneurship in South Africa. That's not how he works. Ethical and morals. Actions speak louder than words. Politicians talk but when genuine business want support they never help. Let’s support 100% black-owned businesses like Avari Cars. Exciting to note that they are moving to bigger premises nearly double the size. Just imagine having a 100% lack owned car dealership in all major towns. We wish Tembinkosi and his team all the success. My sweetie here is a late bloomer but I have always kept faith that people will see his potential. I liked what this kblogger said that when you see him in TJFH , he feels familiar but yet you might think he's a newcomer. Seems like a rookie but surprised that he's good in acting. If you check his filmography you'd realise he's been acting for more than a decade. JY mentioned that he wasn't sure what to do while in school but he did have a dream of being a chef especially because he helped mum out at home. His father suggested modeling after he was done with military service . He mentioned in an interview he had to shed off 30kg through diet & exercise as he weighed over 100kg .Esteem Academy signed him & he debut as a model in 2010. He got casted in a TVN survival program "Flower Boy Casting". From there, he was inspired to act and landed his 1st supporting role in the movie "No Breathing". (starring SeoInGuk & LeeJongSuk.) If you want to see a young JY in swimwear 😁, you can check him out there. The movie didn't quite make a splash (pun unintended 😁) , and JY who had actually left Esteem to pursue acting, found himself jobless for at least over a year. He auditioned for BladeMan (LeeDongWook & Shin SeKyung's drama) and got casted for a small role. Esteem reached out to him again & he signed with them again to model. He later also joined HB Entertainment for acting jobs, and was with them for a long time. Last year (2023) he left HB and joined his long time manager who had established a new agency, Management S. After Blademan , JY had several supporting roles but his 1st main cast role was in OCN's My Secret Romance. He was the 2nd lead & that was also my first JY drama. While I didn't have SLS, he was such a sweetheart there and caught my attention. My massive crush began when he acted as MooYeon in #100DaysMyPrince as an assassin and the FL's brother. He also had a forbidden love line with the 2ndFL's char played by HanSoHee , and they had great chemie despite limited scenes. I cried my eyes out watching their tragic love story. This is the year (2018) I decided I'll stan this man ☺️😂 His role there opened many doors. He had a short TV series called Dear My Room ( was on the now defunct Olive TV) where he played the romantic ML against Ryoo Hye Young's character. It was one of those friends to lovers trope and I recommend this for a sweet fluffy watch. He also sang the OST with RHY. The big year came in 2019 when he was casted as the ML , Sun Woo in #SecretBoutique, a female centric drama starring KimSunA and GoMinSi . He had a meaty role here as a prosecutor - a bit of a grey character and was somewhat like a brother to the FL (KimSunA) and he had some nice fight scenes. His body was the best here 🔥😋😁. If you don't mind a heavy melodrama, this wasn't bad. And oh boy, was I shipping him hard with GoMinSi's character. I still hope they can reunite for another show & give me closure. 2019-2020 was when I watched a KBS weekender #BeautifulLoveWonderfulLife from start to finish ( raw and with subs - yes my level of dedication surprised me) because JY got casted as Jun Hwi, the ML against another actress I love , Seol In Ah. Gosh, this drama was an emotional roller coaster and was another heavy character. The premise of the story was so sad and the leads went through so much together but I love this show though. He had good chemie with SIA. He also won a KBS acting award here. I recommend this if you can do 50eps and love angst like I do 😂 The role took its toll on JY. He mentioned he needed to take a break but then found himself without work for at least 6-7 months ( if I remember correctly) . Boy, did I miss him. It was really only in an Elle pictorial with his good friend -actor, model and famous youtuber Joo WooJae that I found out he had been having a hard time. He has appeared on WooJae's YT channel several times - they even travel together. JY's come back drama was in #ReflectionOfYou (2021), another heavy melo as the ML who was caught in an emotional tug of war between 2 women played by GoHyunJung and ShinHyunBeen. As WooJae, KJY gave some of his best acting. I know he got a lot of hate 😵‍💫🤣because WooJae was just so obssessed / in love with GHJ's character that he was willing to throw it all for her. This drama is not for the faint hearted but the acting was superb all round - even if the plot would make you uncomfortable. He was so hot here too. JY with longish hair was a dream. In 2022, he was the 2ndML , as KangHaeJin in #LoveInContract. It was so nice to see him play a diva actor and do rom-com for the 1st time. This is a fun watch. While I don't think viewers would have SLS, JY's character wasn't one dimensional either and he had his own storyline despite not being the ML. In 2022 - 2023 he voiced an audio drama , "For Sale - I Broke Up" with Yoon So Hee - but I don't know how we can listen to it internationally (though I do have some vids I would post one day). He also filmed a drama called "We Will Replace The Trip" with Gong SeungYeon, but so far no news of it airing yet. JaeYoung here is shy and unassuming. He's MBTI is INFP. You can see from his interviews he's quite easygoing and humorous. On my highlights- I have subbed some of his videos for TJFH. JY says he still dreams of being a chef and has gone to a 6-month cooking course last year. He also hopes to be able to take on warmer roles going forward.
