Kash Mayfield comes back for Casey Mize #2 Prospect in the Padres system Long lefty with more than a strikeout per inning in High A. Has a plus changeup Will be likely be the top pitching prospect in the Tigers system when River Ryan comes up #DNMW

And don’t forget this years pick, Flukey. Ryan, Mayfield, Flukey and Ben Jacob’s. Some good young arms to add to Jobe, Montero and Melton. Now if we could just fix this friggen bullpen.

They totally revamped their pitching farm Great deadline

Cool. So he will develop into a starter and they will trade him.

Ya and theyll trade him at the DL in 5 years cause they cant afford him. 😂

Quick analysis from people who have watched him. Killer change up, average fastball that may end up getting to 96 as he progresses. Intriguing move, didnt have much of a choice with his contract ending this year

Outstanding addition for an often injured rental.

So glad they did the right thing and sold.

To call Casey Mize, "Oft Injured" is like calling Cal Ripken "reliable." Casey Mize could tear his groin collecting the mail, he could pull a hamstring finding his way to the dumpster near the house and he could wrench SOMETHING engaged in coitus!! Just a pre geriatric POS.

When River Ryan retires*

@JimCosta_ that would be Flukey Jim lol… Kash needs to iron out his command and stamina…

Should have just kept Mize

We should be able to get a good prospect for him in about 4 years

I’ve seen more than a few people write that he will be the top SP prospect, which seems like a pretty big indictment against Flukey, who was just the 22nd pick. And same age. I guess he is coming off an injury, but Mayfield has only thrown 53 innings and is averaging 3.5/start.

@james_gill61165 Not even close .. Flukey is their best pitching prospect

Chris Sale 2.0?

He's thrown 53 innings all year and has a history of shoulder problems.

Do we see River this season? Hasn't pitched since June.

Daniel Norris vibes.

He’s the top prospect now

More 'potential', 'future', 'maybe'...

Padres have prospects?

Idiots trading for “ prospects”. Why the fuck are Detroit teams so stupid with trades constantly??

Damn. Jimmy up late tonight. 😂

Nah. More likely Cameron Flukey.

So see him when? September of what 2030 or is it more likely behind the counter at a @Wendys with the rest of Scott Harris's "Trade Haul"? in 18 months? #FireScottHarris

Cole Hamels like. We love lefties with a wicked change-up.
