What really alarms is not the rapid increase of ill-educated and desperate grunts looking to blame the other, but rather the wealthy spoilt elite with an agenda to fulfil who are funding this division amongst the many.
As usual Jamie you just highlight the male idiot but don't question her response. Robinson certainly didn't enable this view of women. It was the prevailing view of men for centuries. It's also still the view of many Muslims and Islamic countries. Nowadays it's a minority view in the UK. However, where I live in deep rural Spain it is the majority view of older Spanish men. Many of the women here can't read because their husbands didn't allow them to learn. Many of the women do consider it to be their job to stay at home, take care of the kids, cook and look after their husbands. It's changing but very slowly. She's also wrong about the Empire in terms of infrastructure and resources. It's the common narrative that the British Empire extracted resources and left former colonies without infrastructure, causing the migration that we see today. This view oversimplifies a more mixed historical record in which Britain constructed extensive railways, ports, telegraph systems and administrative institutions in India, largely financed by Indian taxes under guaranteed return contracts that also served imperial trade and military needs. India and the UK now have closely comparable nominal GDPs (around $4 trillion each in 2025–26 figures), with India occasionally ranked just below or above the UK depending on exchange rates and revisions. India operates a successful, cost effective space programme through ISRO, including lunar landings, while the UK only maintains a smaller but growing space sector focused on satellites and defence. Former imperial territories retain substantial natural resources, but the economic relationship involved both investment and extraction.
