“The fact that she won’t debate indicates pretty clearly that she can’t defend her record,” Republican gubernatorial candidate Andy Biggs said of Gov. Katie Hobbs. “If you can’t defend your record, you should probably be disqualified.” Hobbs’ campaign announced Thursday she will not participate in gubernatorial debates in her reelection race against Biggs, instead pointing to his own record of skipping forums and refusing to face opponents on stage. Biggs’ running mate, Sine Kerr, called Hobbs’ decision “disrespectful” to Arizona voters. “To me, it’s, again, being disrespectful, like she was to that Arizona voter at the baseball game when she said ‘It’s none of your business,’ and I feel like she’s saying that again,” Kerr said. “It’s uncalled for.” Biggs has named Kerr as his pick for lieutenant governor, completing the GOP ticket.
