@Richard_D_Boyle I am weeping listening to this. Gough tried to turn this country into a bigger better place. Since the days of little Johnnie Howard, his attempts have been stultified. And the current ALP is not helping very much. Not that I will vote them out. Please do better @AlboMP

49 years ago today. It’s shameful that we let that coup happen & still run the rhetoric that the fact we accepted it peacefully is something to be proud of. Gough achieved more in 3 years than every other PM since combined. With no support from states, senate, media or Bob Hawke.

Pity he didn’t continue on with what Gough started. HawkeKeating started uni fees, the sell off of public assets, the limitation of workers pay rises, more money to private education, the list goes on. They were the start Labor moving right

Both men were great visionaries & strong leaders for Australian interests. Today's leaders should take note.

Gough was my idol. Keating of later years is pretty good, although I don’t remember liking him then quite as much as I do now. Never to be compared or confused with the current low-achieving mob.
