⛰️ I just… I just like working hard. Whatever it is. You only get one life, right? So I just want to work hard without any regrets. Because I don’t think I’d be happy if I were loved without working hard. Then this time, after consistently working hard for 8 years, I received love, and only then, when I felt it myself, I realized, “Woah, I’m really being loved right now.” So I’m grateful that it turned out that way. If I hadn’t worked hard and had just gotten by on talent, and if I had just gotten lucky, I don’t think I would’ve been that happy. So I’m just going to keep doing what I’ve been doing and keep working hard consistently. You all recognize it/notice it (my efforts), actually - so that’s what I’m grateful for. It’s also important that I acknowledge my own efforts, but I’m really grateful when other people acknowledge my efforts too. And the sense of fulfillment I get from that is really big too. So I’ll keep working hard. video cr. goguma710

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Here are a few thoughts from this insightful video clip 👇🏽 1) One who has talent needs to stop being complacent, distracted and lazy and needs to start being focused and working hard to reach one’s goals. ARE YOU FOCUSED AND GIVING YOUR BEST? 2) What if the 🐇 was focused and working hard as well? It would have won the race, and the 🐢 would be left disappointed on losing despite all its sincere efforts. The question is, is it fair to have a race between 2 absolutely different talents/skill sets? Both the 🐇 and the 🐢 may be accomplished in their own skills, but they need to be in a race with those who possess the same skillset for a fair competition. Let’s recall what Albert Einstein said, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” ARE YOU IN THE RIGHT RACE? 3) Now imagine that the race was between two accomplished 🐇 🐇 or between two accomplished 🐢🐢 (two individuals of the same skillset) Still, one would win, and the other would lose. Despite all focus and hard work, victory and defeat are a part of life. One day we win, and on another, we lose. When we don’t get what we’ve toiled for, we may feel disappointed, and that’s fine. We’re sentient humans, after all. If we come out of the anguish of our loss in our own time, work with focus and commitment and get back to the race again, we’re a massive success. Real defeat is not the loss in the race but the lack of willingness and motivation to give it a shot again. READY TO GIVE IT A SHOT AGAIN? David Goggins says most people get lost in life because they fail to master the mental game: "Nothing in the world can do it like pushing yourself to the absolute limit. This is going beyond your talent. When there's no more talent. What happens to you? Most people quit. People only go to their talent level. And once their talent is gone, it becomes a mental game." "Most people can only perform to their talent level. And they ask themselves 'Man, why am I messing up right here?', 'Why is this, like, my big hurdle?'... It's because you're performing to your talent. And after that your mind has nothing for you." "I see fighters, I see runners, I see people who are great. But they get to the edge of their talent, and they're like, what's up? Because you're at the point now, where your talent can't help you. And now it's the mental game." "That's where people get lost in life. Lost in that next level. It's a talent problem." "And that is exactly what goes on in the human mind when you have a talent problem. So how are you going to defeat that bro? You're sitting there getting beat down by a guy. Just on you. Throwing you down. Take down. Take down. Hit in the face. And all that's going through you mind is there's no positivity in that." "But when you train the mind the way I train mine. You're ready man. You're ready." "First of all I didn't have much talent. So I had to train one thing. You better train your mind. Because my talent is going to run out way early." "When stuff got hard for me back in the day bro, I'm done, I'm out, See Ya! OK. I've got to invent an alter ego that can. So I invented 'Goggins'." "I invented someone who realized we're not good enough, but 'Goggins' realized we're mentally strong, and we're going to out strength the competition in the mind."

#Donghae 🐯: When the album comes out, I think I might cry. When I hold the album, thinking about all the worries and struggles. It wasn’t all hardship, there was excitement too, but until it comes out, I keep thinking I have to make something good. So, the album is coming out, should I do music shows or not? But music shows are hard for you to come to. Still, some of you want to watch it on TV, so don’t even think about not doing it.. If I don’t do music shows, even if I work hard on the album, people would probably say things to me. Ah, music show fancams…if I don’t do them, it’ll be a problem, huh? But you know, right? No matter what you say to me, I love you. Love beats everything. You’ll make me get first place? It’s okay. You’re already my number one. That’s enough for me. You’re my number one in the world. Suddenly I feel like crying. Whether I get first place or not, that’s not really something we can decide. But more than that, words like “Of course we’ll give you first place” made me suddenly feel so emotional. You have work tomorrow, it’s Monday. I’m sorry it’s so late. I also have work tomorrow. You all worked so hard this weekend. Whether you rested, met friends, spent time with family, I hope you had a happy time. It’s late, but sleep well. Thank you always. I love you so much. You’re number one in my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you 3000. Promise. I love you. Don’t dream, sleep deeply. Do well at work tomorrow. Wear a scarf, turn on a humidifier, and sleep well. I’ll sleep too. Good night.

jihoon cutely ranting and asking yg for a longer vacation period 🥹 🐶 YG, next time you give us a vacation, please make it a little longer 🔫 🐶 hey it’s not that I want to rest more or anything. im just saying, if you’re going to give us a vacation next time, make it just a little bit longer. just a little longer. okay?? 🐶 in return, i’ll work hard until then. i’ll work at 140% of the quota you expect from me. so next time, please make the vacation a bit longer. 🐶 there are so many things I want to do. okay? 🐶 YG seriously. promise. seriously promise. for real. YG Entertainment, i have never really let you down, have I? 🐶 I always work hard. I always try my best. I always show you. every time. right? 🐶 so next vacation, make it longer than the last one okay? 🐶 and stop giving us vacations during peak travel season. give them during the off-season. when you give us vacations during peak season, it’s hard to book flights, hard to go anywhere, hard to do anything. you always give us vacation in January. since it’s around the end and beginning of the year, everywhere is crowded. 🐶 dont think I’m asking for too much. actually, I am asking for a lot. thats true 🐶 im just saying it’d be nice if you could do it that way. if you can’t, then it can’t be helped! if it doesn’t work out, then just give us whatever vacation you can. 🐶 im grateful for any vacation ofc but if possible, that’s what i’d like. everyone, this doesn’t mean I want to rest or quit or anything like that. 🐶 im going to keep working hard. starting Friday, 2 days from now, im going to work hard. not only harder than anyone else, but I want to show that I can do it better than anyone else. bc im someone who can do that. I’ll show you how well I can do it. im confident i’ll do well 🐶 I’ll spend 3 good days in Seoul. I’ll do well in Japan too. then when we come back and start preparing for another album? i’ll work hard again. 🐶 I’ll work hard on the album, and then I’ll work hard preparing for year-end award shows and year-end stages. I’ll work harder than anyone else. I’ll do better than anyone else 🐶 what I’m saying is… if you’re going to give me this opportunity… if happen to receive it… then this is what i’d like.

Nick Saban walked up to the interview podium after practice one day. “Okay, y’all ready for a lecture?” he asked. What followed was a powerful lesson on entitlement and doing your best. Saban on the Importance of Nothing: “Let’s talk about the importance of nothing. You get up every day, you’re entitled to nothing. Nobody owes you nothing. “You have talent, but if you don’t have discipline, you don’t execute, you don’t focus, what do you get? Nothing. “If you’re complacent and not paying attention to detail, what does that get you? Nothing. “So, nothing is acceptable but your best. “Everything is determined by what you do and trying to be your best. There should be nothing else but that, for everybody. “That’s what we need to stay focused on. We need to not accept anything but our best in terms of what we’re doing in preparation.” – It’s a simple, but profound message. Some key takeaways: 1. Entitlement is a disease. It stunts growth and erodes culture. 2. Success has a one-day life cycle. Yesterday doesn’t dictate today. 3. Nobody is owed anything. When your feet hit the floor in the morning, it’s on you. 4. Talent matters, but it’s far from all that matters. 5. The actions you take drive success. Talent only amplifies those actions. 6. Even the best can’t afford complacency. There are competitors trying to defeat you every day. 7. If you’re entitled, the biggest competitor is yourself. 8. If you’re owed nothing, that means nobody else is either. Therein is your opportunity. 9. You can have the best strategy, the best business model, the best talent and … none of it matters if you don’t execute. 10. There are no guarantees. Relish the unknown. ||| Hope this is helpful. Follow me Teddy Mitrosilis for more writing. I also write a weekly newsletter on the process of improvement →

Bookmark this practice called: The Neuro-Fascial Release Techique. In order to be physically and mentally healthy, our vagus nerve has to be functioning properly. When our vagus nerve functions properly were in primarily in what’s called social engagement mode. We’re also flexible and able to react appropriately to stress. We’re less susceptible to disease because our immune system is functioning at its best. You can practice this as often as you make time for. Ideally daily— or any time you want to get back to a parasympathetic state. Test your mobility before and after doing this practice. And if you can— journal after. Notice how your emotions change when you help your body do so what it naturally does. TO PRACTICE: You’ll feel the occipital bone at the base of your skull. Press firmly, but NOT too hard. Move the skin to the right and hold. Then to the left. Keep breathing. This practice was created by Stanley Rosenberg who through polyvagal theroy (Dr. Stephen Porges) initiatively understood that trauma is stored within the body. His work with clients focused on somatic practices, specially clients with depression, anxiety, and other “disorders” that are actually adaptions. Please share so other people have access to the healing power that can come when we understand the role of the vagus nerve and our nervous system #selfhealers

Tony Dungy said, "You've got to have talent to win a championship, but that's not number 1." "That team (that won the SB) worked the hardest, stuck together the most, (and) was willing to pay the price to overcome adversity." How to Build a 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐌:🧵 1. Set standards, not just goals - It means creating expectations for daily habits, effort, and accountability - not just focusing on end results. Standards guide how the team operates, ensuring consistency and discipline. Success isn't built on goals alone; it's built on the habits that make goals achievable. 2. Build trust and connection - It means creating an environment where teammates feel safe, respected, and valued. Trust allows teams to communicate openly, rely on one another, and face challenges together. A connected team doesn’t just work side-by-side - they work for each other. 3. Set a clear purpose and vision - It means every team member understands why they are showing up and what they are working toward. A clear purpose keeps everyone aligned and motivated. Teams with purpose don’t just work - they work with intention and focus. 4. Embrace hard work - It means showing up every day ready to give your best effort, even when it’s tough. Hard work matters builds discipline, confidence, and progress over time. The teams that succeed are the ones that live the details, do the work consistently, and never settle for "good enough". 5. Build a resilient mindset in everyone - It means building a mindset within the team wants to overcome adversity. Every team faces adversity, but the committed teams don't falter when they face setbacks. They choose to grow, learn, and improve when looking at challenges. 6. Put the team first - It means putting the team’s goals ahead of your own personal desires. Committed teams personify WE over Me. This matters because when everyone sacrifices for the team, trust and unity grow stronger. True commitment shines when individuals support each other, share the workload, and celebrate team success over personal recognition.

Tony Dungy said, "You've got to have talent to win a championship, but that's not number 1." Paul Pierce on Chicago Bulls Front Office saying next GM they hire has to keep Billy Donovan: “In most cases when a new general manager comes in, he wants to bring in his coach of choice. When you clean house at the top in the front office, it don’t make sense to bring in somebody who hasn’t had the success with the Bulls to keep them in place, you know, and then like if things don’t work out, who do you blame? Do you blame the GM? Do you blame the coach? He’s going to come back to Reinsdorf and say, “Well, you didn’t let me bring my coach in that I wanted.” I understand that Billy Donovan is a solid NBA coach, but like the general manager that comes in, if he has a plan and he has a system that he wants to kind of like implement. You have to allow him to do that. It’s just like if I go and I’m the manager at McDonald’s and you fired all these chefs and everything and you keep the one dude who make the fries and the fries ain’t been good. What? Like dog get him off the fries? Come on. They need to get everybody out of here. Get everybody out of there. Get them all out of here.” (Via No Fouls Given)

🦋 so with my same-age friend, jeongwoo, we said we'd try to make it to diamond, and we played together. but it ended kind of awkwardly 👤 what about that friend? 🦋 that friend? i think he made it all the way to master? Huh? i'm not sure. i don't know how far he got. 👤 wsn't that frustrating? 🦋 no, but why did he get so high up? that guy is seriously all about that one thing. when he gets hooked on something...i want to do other things too, but he literally sits in a dark room like this, with one leg up, and just plays like that. so he got that far because that's the only thing he does 👤 so it's all about passion? 🦋 ah, i guess i'm the one who's lacking passion 👤 ah, so for him it's hard work, and talent-wise you're about the same? 🦋 yeah, our talent is probably about the same.i still can't really accept that he's that much better than me #하루토 #박정우

John Carmack on the importance hard work: “For decades, I worked 60 hours a week” “I was never one of the programmers who would do all-nighters or work for 20 hours straight,” programming legend John Carmack begins when asked about his work routine. “My brain generally starts turning to mush after 12 hours or so. But hard work is really important, and for decades I would work 60 hours a week. I would work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week.” He continues: “I had a little thing in the back of my head where I was almost jealous of some of the programmers who would do these marathon sessions. Like Dave Taylor, one of the guys we had at id Software, would be one of those people who would fall asleep under his desk sometimes and all the classic hacker tropes about these things. Part of me was always a little bothered that wasn’t me. I wouldn’t program 20 hours straight because I’m falling apart and not being very effective after 12 hours . . . There are people who can work on 4 hours of sleep and continue to do good work, but there’s a lot of people who just fall apart. I always try to get 8 hours of sleep . . . you can work 100 hours a week and still get 8 hours of sleep if you prioritize things correctly. But I do believe in working hard.” John disagrees with the backlash against hard work and voices support for game developer’s comment that “40 hours a week is kind of a part-time job.” “If you’re doing what you think is important work that you’re passionate about, working more gets more done. It’s really not possible to argue with that if you’ve been around the people who work with that level of intensity.” He believes people who argue that you’re less productive if you work more than 40 hours a week are misinterpreting things: “Your marginal productivity for an hour after eight hours is less than one of your peak hours, but you’re not literally getting less done. There’s a point where you start breaking things and literally going backwards, but it’s not 8-12 hours.” John illustrates this point with a fictional example: “Imagine there’s an asteroid that’s going to crash into Earth and destroy all human life. Do you want Elon Musk and the people working at SpaceX building the interceptor that’s going to deflect the asteroid clocking out at 5pm because they’re going to do worse work if they work another couple hours? It seems absurd . . . It’s the truth: working longer gets more done.” Video source: Lex Fridman (Aug 2022)
