I represented at the AFRIMA 2025 WORLD MEDIA CALENDAR UNVEILING & MUSIC CONFERENCE in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. And this what I have for my fellow creatives. Africa is a continent bursting with vibrant rhythms, soulful melodies, and unparalleled creativity. Our artists, producers, songwriter, and innovators are crafting sounds that resonate across borders yet, despite owning the art and the culture, we often find ourselves fighting for space in the global market. Why? Because we don’t fully own or control the platforms that showcase our music. We lack the infrastructure, the investment, and the unified voice needed to truly capitalize on our rich heritage. The biggest challenge isn’t just about competing it’s about collaboration. We need to shift our mindset from scarcity to abundance. Instead of fighting for limited space, we should be working together as Africans to build our own streaming platforms, protect our rights, and invest in our craft. When we own the channels, we own the narrative. When we tell our story, it’s authentic, powerful, and unmistakably African. Our originality and roots are our greatest assets. We must celebrate and preserve our unique arts, culture, and languages. Let’s encourage each other to stay true to our identity, because no one else can tell our story the way we must and know it. Our music is more than entertainment it’s a reflection of our history, resilience, and future. To the global audience Africa’s story is waiting to be heard, understood, and appreciated. It’s time we sell our narrative, showcase our talent, and let the world see Africa through our eyes. A special thank you to ALL AFRICA MUSIC AWARDS(AFRIMA) for providing a consistent platform where Africa comes together to celebrate our music, culture, and creativity. Your work inspires us all to keep pushing boundaries and to keep our roots alive. Let’s build an ecosystem that’s owned by us, for us. The world is ready for Africa’s voice. Are we ready to own it? ✊🏿🎤🌟 #AfricanMusic #MusicOwnership #CelebrateAfrica #AFRIMA #UnityInMusic #AfricanCreatives

CALLING ALL FANDOMS/ Lovers of Girl groups Please vote for Dreamcatcher on Idol Champ! As y'all know we're the biggest Insomnias around. We love Dreamcatcher, they're the reason why we got back into K-pop as hard as we did and really the reason why we started to take reacting seriously. These girls have truly outstanding songs, vocals, choreo, visuals and yet they only have 4 wins, which genuinely should be a crime. This is probably their only chance of winning during this comeback period. These girls resigned their contract and have been working their as*es off for 7+ years in a small company. They HAVEN'T given up. They keep dreaming and pursuing their passion. Dreamcatcher is the group that every small company group probably looks up to. Because Dreamcatcher is still fighting. And they are putting out PHENOMENAL music. (Justice is an amazing song and you all should check it out if you haven’t.) Please let's show them that their hard work is paying off. This is a call to any fan/fandom that loves their group and wants them to keep promoting after that 7 year curse. Show your favorite group that it’s possible to keep going even if there’s hurdles, even if they're struggling, even if they’re not the biggest group. Let’s make Dreamcatcher someone they can continue to look up to. (Also if you want to send proofs to show what fandom you are from we’ll make sure to try to support them in their next comeback in some way :)) P.S We know this isn’t something we usually do. They might not even win even if we win this, but they’re our girls and we just want them to be happy. We don’t know who we would be without DC :)

Sayonara 2024!! I know I’m a little late buttt… man, that one really flew by! I did a lot last year that I’m proud of. I released 4 songs independently that I love (Tripped, Raw, HTWWY & Down🥰), I filmed 3 music videos (2 of my own, the other with Remi Wolf who is a queen), I was on the cover of Marie Claire’s music issue (say whaaaat?! 🎵♥️), I got to sing Big Girls Don’t Cry on the Kelly Clarkson show 🥹 (honored) , I made new friends, I traveled ! I went to the Cannes film festival for the first time which has always been a dream of mine. I went to PFW for the first time!! (Unreal experience 😍) I dressed up,I dressed down. I spent time with my amazing fam. I wrote more music which I can’t wait to share with you all. I had a brand new movie come out (Depravity🩸) and gave a performance I’m proud of. I laughed, I cried. I loved,I lost. I danced more than ever. I sang my heart out. I stepped out of my comfort zone. I met a lot of really amazing people & had some incredible experiences. And most importantly, I ate A LOT of really good food. ✨ And above all else my friends, I TRIED. I didn’t always live up to my own expectations & things didn’t always work out the way I wanted to. But I TRIED, and I’m proud of myself for that. You should be too 🫂 Here’s to more of that in the new year!! Happy 2025 my friends, thank you for coming along for the ride. And thank you as always for your support & love. Beyond beyond grateful🙏🏼 Can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us all. Whatever it is, I know we can handle it 💪🏼Let’s make this year our bitch!!!! ✨ With LOVE, Vic 💋

Boycotting NewJeans’ music hurts NewJeans far more than it hurts HYBE, because of how royalties, contracts, and public perception work in the K-pop industry. —- You also have to consider this… NewJeans’ numbers is not heavily “fandom based.” As much as you think you all are the source of their massive streaming numbers, you’re wrong. The general public, and non K-pop fans love NewJeans music and they will keep on listening to it even if you convinced Bunnies to boycott. —- HYBE’s revenue base is massive and diversified. HYBE earns from dozens of sources… multiple groups, Weverse, concerts, merch, and even U.S. subsidiaries. Even if NewJeans’ streaming or album sales drop, HYBE can easily offset that loss through its other labels. HYBE doesn’t depend on NewJeans alone. Their system is built to survive the loss of any one group’s income. —- NewJeans’ streaming and sales are their only active revenue right now. Since they’re in hiatus, no tours, no fan meetings, no new releases… the only money that still trickles down to them comes from: - Streaming royalties - Physical album sales still circulating - Brand contracts still running If Bunnies boycott their music, those residual royalties shrink. That means less income to the girls themselves, not HYBE. —- HYBE already collected most of the upfront revenue. HYBE, as the parent company, has already: - Collected bulk profits from the initial album releases - Recouped production and distribution costs Future streaming revenue is a small portion of total income, mostly going to artists. So cutting that stream primarily hurts the artists, not HYBE’s bottom line. —- Public metrics matter for NewJeans’ reputation. Charts, YouTube views, and streaming numbers determine public perception, endorsement value, and global relevance. If Bunnies and casual fans intentionally stop listening, the data will show some sort of decline, which media will spin as “fandom fatigue” or “loss of popularity.” HYBE can use that narrative to undermine NewJeans position, claiming the group has “lost public interest” and was highly dependent on them. —- Supporting NewJeans ≠ Supporting HYBE. When fans stream NewJeans, the signal that matters most isn’t the money, it’s the visibility and demand. Every listen, stream, or social trend proves: “People care about NewJeans themselves and their music.”

THE SHREDDER went to the Stafford Board of Supervisors meeting to CONFESS his love for FURRIES and TRANIMALS in Stafford Schools! Monica Gary CRASHES OUT!! We all know Stafford allows boys in girls bathrooms and furries in the schools because of their policies 2420-p and 4107-p. THE SHREDDER is the original SUPERFAN of MUTANTS and gender fluid, species fluid carbon based life forms!! So, I, as THE SHREDDER came to congratulate Stafford on their WOKE policies that they keep pushing on children, despite the fact that these policies WILL cost stafford over $30 million in funding, and that they violate the law. We in the foot clan have decided to copy all of Stafford's policies, and implement them in the TECHNODROME. we will allow everyone to use the bathroom at the same time so they can tinkle in tandem, without a whiff of wrongness. also included in this are audio clips from the original Teenage mutant ninja turtles arcade games, and the super shredder theme music from super nintendo!! of course, supervisor monica gary CRASHES OUT because of my speech. She says LGBTQ children are harmed (they are not) while ignoring the harm that these policies cause to other children that do not want these policies in schools. she then goes on to contradict herself, claiming she cares that "no one should feel less than", while she starts insulting/attacking me, a disabled man on dialysis for 5 years, with 4 heart attacks and 16 stents in my heart. WE TALKIN' ABOUT CONTENT!!!!!!!!!

MASSIVE news: In the US, Constellation Brands owns Corona, Modelo and Pacifico beer. Last week I did a story exposing their woke DEI policies. In response they engaged with me and decided to make big changes. I can now exclusively tell you what’s changing: • Constellation Brands will no longer practice DEI • They will no longer work with Human Rights Campaign Rapid Response and they’ll no longer participate in their woke CEI social credit system known for pushing the trans agenda • They will no longer use the term Latinx • They will not engage in lobbying for legislation that isn’t core to their business anymore like they previously did with the so called Equality Act which would have legalized men who say they’re trans playing in girls sports • Supplier engagement will be focused on ALL small businesses instead of diverse suppliers • They will provide guidance to employees on not injecting personal activism while representing the company brand Their employees were just notified moments ago. ‼️EXPOSED: Erika Kirk's Latest PSYOP—Using Her Children & Bible Verses As EMOTIONAL Blackmail Shields 👀 Erika Kirk does not like us exposing the deep inconsistencies in her life… so what does she do? She floods Instagram with videos of her children — soft lighting, Bible verses, emotional music — all designed to pull on your heartstrings and shame anyone asking legitimate questions. The message is crystal clear: “Look at these precious kids who just lost their father.” “How dare you question a grieving widow and mother?” “If you criticize me, you’re attacking innocent children and attacking faith itself.” This isn’t organic grieving. This is calculated emotional manipulation. Every time scrutiny ramps up — whether it’s the Fort Huachuca alibi photo, the Aspen “appointment” video, the deepfake meetings, or the White House Military Office psyop pushing her narrative — out come the kids and Bible verses. It’s the ultimate shield: Using your children as human props and scripture as moral armor so no one dares look into her past, her rapid power grab, or the mountain of unanswered questions surrounding Charlie’s assassination. This is textbook Machiavellian tactics — weaponizing sympathy and faith to silence dissent. Erika isn’t the only one doing this. The entire inner circle knows the playbook: flood the feed with emotional content so the public feels guilty for asking basic questions. We can have compassion for children who lost their father. That doesn’t mean we stop demanding transparency from the woman now running a multi-hundred-million-dollar organization. Stop letting them use kids and the Bible as get-out-of-scrutiny-free cards. What do you think — genuine grieving or calculated psyop? Drop your thoughts below. ⚠️My channel is under attack, and they are trying to bankrupt me to shut down my investigation into the Charlie Kirk assassination and silence the truth. If you value independent journalism and want to keep this investigation alive, please support my work here: 🔗 💪

That company has done so much evil shit to Manon, since 2023. We remember when Mitra purposely tried to ruin Manon's reputation after the DA trailer dropped after they realized she was the fan favorite. After she debut they continued with that narrative, drop that dirty documentary, blocked her in choreo. Purposely excluded her from promotions. Purposely excluded her from content.Put awful demeaning stuff on official merch about her and sent it to fans. They used her to help popularize the group then coldly forced her out and discarded her when the group became popular. After forcing her out....they actively started erasing her from everything and pretending like the group is five. They teamed with the members to lie that she is sick and she has to come out multiple times to clarify she is not sick. They have the girls collecting an award and thanking others but not mention Manon at all. They all pretended like she does not exist all and only brought her up in interviews just to lie on her name. Daniela's father came online to purposely hate on her ,even though he is a parent and a grown old man. They had her spent weeks, maybe months learning and rehearsing new choreos and recording music for new songs....only to re record and removed her from everything... flushing all that hard work down the drain. She was looking forward to 2026,to Coachella,to everything. She was happy and excited for it all.....only for them to take it away last minute and the only thing she did.... ....was to like a post calling out racism (as she should),correct that she is healthy and not sick and live her life being happy and having fun. However it seems this maga fandom wants her locked away in a dungeon crying while the other five gets to live out their dreams. That will Never happen. Manon is very strong willed. She will shine with or without that group. So y'all can keep fucking crying. She will work with a lot of important people and reach very far in her life and career. Bad Karma will hit anyone that has treated her badly and unfairly. Just wait. And we hope she doesn't go back to that group and eventually remove everything that reminds. people of MANON of katseye..and start completely over by just being Manon. In our opinion Manon is not doing enough....if it was one of us...we would drag every one in that company straight to hell and happily fight it all in court....but she has been classy and graceful with all of this. Lucky them. KATSEYE IS FIVE FREEMANON HYBE OFFICIAL Geffen Records

#LongRead #DharmaMusings A Visit to Maithreyee Gurukulam Maithreyee Gurukulam for girls is one of flagship programs of RSS that has been running for almost 25 years! Maithreyee Gurukulam is located amidst lush arecanut and coconut orchards in Moorkaje village near Vitala, about 40 kms away from Mangaluru. Founded on Guru Poornima day of the year 1994, it is not just a place of learning. It is a sanctuary, a world that moves at its own unhurried pace. As we drove into the beautiful, serene campus, it was like entering a dream world. Mellifluous voices rose up and down with the wind as we were welcomed by the site of a group of students sang Kannada songs while sitting in the middle of an arecanut grove. Maithreyee Gurukula stands in harmony with its surroundings in a beautiful tract of land donated by a local lady named Parameshwaramma for this unique Kanya Gurukulam. The Ajeya Trust has been running this Gurukulam from the start. Recently, the Gurukulam got its new premises. A beautiful Murti of Bharat Mata stands at the entrance, right next to the Sharada temple. There is a lovely small laterite temple dedicated to a local Daiva in the premises as well. The classrooms are in beautiful bright red cottages with sloping roofs. The buildings do not impose themselves on the land but rather belong to it, as naturally as the trees and birds. Maithreyee Gurukulam was founded with the vision of reviving the ancient Gurukula system of education, emphasising holistic development. The curriculum focuses on Panchmukhi Shiksha, integrating Vedic studies, yoga, science, organic agriculture, and fine arts, aiming to nurture well-rounded individuals. The Gurukulam is affiliated with NIOS for the exams. The heart of this place beats in the form of two extraordinary women, Shrimati Akka and Savitri Akka. They do not merely run the Gurukulam, but they are the very spirit of the place, nurturing it with the patience and devotion of a mother tending to her children. I asked the students about how they felt about studying at Maithreyee. A girl from Thane, Maharashtra told me that when she took admission here after her tenth grade, initially it was hard, because the Gurukulam insists on the girls doing most of their work themselves. But she said, once she got used to it, she started loving the place. Another girl from Uttar Pradesh said that she loved that there was perfect equality at the Gurukulam, no one asks about anyone’s caste or family background and the teachers eat the same food and live in the same simple way as the students do! The students of Maithreyee Gurukula know at least four languages, Sanskrit, English, Hindi and their own mother tongue. They also study math and science, but they do not merely study all the time. They play, trek, learn music, dance, grow their own vegetables and spend time in nature. All of this education is completely free. Maithreyee Gurukula doesn’t charge a rupee from the students or their parents, it only runs on donations from the society. I asked Shrimati Akka about the students who have graduated from Maithreyee and whether they keep in touch. She smiled and said ‘they treat Maithreyee like their parents’ home. Some of them visit every year with their families’. She told me of one ex-student who now lives in the US. She teaches Indian classical music there and donates her entire earning to the Gurukula as Gurudakshina! Maithreyee Gurukula is more than just a place of education. It is a reminder of what learning once was in Bharat, fully immersive and holistic. Shefali Vaidya

Tonight I was deemed Legendary. Aja Miyake Mugler. I am still gagged. I am still floating. I am still a little high and I have not eaten all day, but my heart is so full right now that I do not even care ❤️‍🔥 First, thank you to my runway divas Aoki Donyale Luna, and Lolita Miyake Mugler. Y’all believed in me, poured into me, analyzed my every step, every angle, every personality quirk, and pushed me to keep going even when I doubted myself. I love you all so much. A huge thank you to Dominique Miyake Mugler for always seeing me. Thank you to my son Zenith for always riding for me. Thank you to my father Arturo for being my voice of reason and keeping me grounded when my mind spirals. And thank you to our founder David, one of the kindest and most selfless souls I have ever met. Every conversation with you brings me deeper into the history and magic of this house. I love my Muglers more than I can ever explain. When I first came to ballroom, I was 12 years old. I discovered this world on the pier and on MySpace. I never imagined that the little kid who used to sneak to Escos would one day actually be Legendary. I never imagined I would end up with an undefeated 30 grand prize streak, ten of the years, teaching classes worldwide, and speaking on ballroom in media and television. My runway was born from watching Londyn Miyake Mugler, Nadine Milan, and Tyra Maison Margiela. Three completely different flavors, but all dangerous and beautiful. I started in performance. Runway was something I picked up just to prove to myself that I could do it. I never expected any of this to happen. I never did it for a title. I did it because I love pushing myself. I did it because I wanted to show the world that I could. Tonight hit me hard because I was not expecting it. I was literally in the kitchen cooking oxtail for the Muglers all day, running on fumes, and I showed up five minutes before Grand March. I was not even thinking about a deem. So when my name was called, my imposter syndrome tried to jump out. For a second, I told myself there was no way. Then I stopped and said, no. I deserve this. I worked for this. I bled for this. I stayed up stitching effects when I could not afford it. I walked balls tired, stressed, broke, emotional, and still gave my all. I let myself have my moment. I keep replaying my biggest memories. Processing the entire female figure lineup back to back at West Coast Awards. Being the only fem queen who did not get chopped at Crimes of the Century and almost taking the whole thing. Being listed for Female Figure Runway at the Garçon Ball and coming in to battle after Jonovia had just sent every single legend on the way, and then beating her. That night was insane. I was the only non legend left standing and I made it all the way to the second to last battle. I will never forget that feeling. Countless last battles for one thousand dollars OTA. Winning Tag Team Legendary Runway with an Understudy as the groom and bride with Aoki. Winning Tag Team again for one $1250. Winning Latex Ball 2023 for $750. My debut night as a Miyake Mugler, winning $2000 at the Lanvin House Ball dressed as the Tin Man. Winning $2,500 in Toronto the next month. Winning and winning and winning because no matter how tired I was, I refused to give up. Tonight felt full circle. It felt like every stitch, every flight, every bruise, every tear, every dollar spent on effects, every failure, every almost, every win, all aligned in one moment. I am so grateful. I am so proud. I am so emotional. And I hope my journey shows anybody watching that if you aim for something and you commit to the work, you will get there. I am LEGENDARY. And I earned it. Thank you, House of Miyake Mugler. I love you so deeply 💛✨🌙

Min Hee-jin (NewJeans Producer) NHK Music Interview 🔗 “Meticulously planned debut ‘Attention’” 🧢: When I was preparing to launch NewJeans, I really struggled with deciding what our first piece of content should be. I thought about it for a long time and considered many possibilities. It was a project that came with high expectations, and for me personally, it was also my first opportunity to prove myself. So how I presented it mattered enormously. Even down to the smallest details… like the impression the very first released photo might give, or what kind of impact we could make at launch. I thought hard about what kind of content would be the most effective… should it be a video or a photo? What time of day would be most effective to release it? I consider things like that very carefully. For example, the way a person experiences content at night versus during the day can feel quite different emotionally. So I even thought about those subtle aspects. Eventually, the conclusion I reached was: “Let’s make the most of our situation.” At the time, the members hadn’t been revealed, and no one knew how many of them there were or what kind of group this would be. So I wanted to maximize that curiosity. You know how the more something is concealed, the more curious people become? I wanted to build that curiosity to a peak and then release everything all at once. That’s why we decided not to release a teaser and instead go straight into a full music video. (This was actually inspired by Hyein suggesting we skip teasers.) I didn’t think still images or photos would be enough to fully convey the feeling I wanted to express. I felt that video and music together would evoke the emotional response I was looking for because people experience things synesthetically. When sound, image, and feeling come together, the emotional impact is stronger. I believed the best way to present the members’ images was through music and a moving picture… that’s why we led with a music video. In the debut music video, “Attention,” there’s a scene where the members act out a little drama. I paid very close attention to that moment and created music that would fit it precisely. For me, I don’t just make content… I design the entire process of how it should be shown for the greatest effect. And I believe that’s incredibly important. That first feeling someone gets when they encounter something… that emotion, that spark… is so important to me. I’m very detail-oriented, but I also value fun deeply. So rather than just releasing content, I want to enjoy the process leading up to it. Even when we released our second album, since we shot the entire music video across the country, the sequence of how we released the videos was critical for me. It’s hard to explain all this simply in an interview, but maybe some people noticed: the first content we released that time was actually a teaser for the last track, “ASAP,” and then we followed that with the full music video for “New Jeans,” which was the first track. That order was a carefully calculated strategy. It was designed to guide the audience’s emotional journey. Seeing the audience react just as I had hoped—that whole process was honestly so fun and thrilling for me. I think I really enjoy that kind of thing. ——— “How 'Ditto' was born” 🧢: People often praise the music of NewJeans, and I hear a lot of talk about genres. But actually, I don’t feel bound by genre at all. I love a wide variety of music. I’m not the type to insist on only one particular genre. What I love are songs that blend genres cleverly… those are my personal favorites. So going forward, my focus is not on genre but on whether something feels fresh and whether it can create an emotional moment. I don’t want to define what kind of music we make. And I think you have to experience the flow of the times to really understand what’s meaningful in a given moment. For instance, the song “Ditto” was chosen because it delivered emotion. It matched perfectly with the winter album concept I had envisioned, both in terms of timing and mood. When I hear a song, I tend to trust my gut. I have a pretty strong intuition for which songs will resonate. It’s not about objectively predicting what will be a “hit,” but about whether a song moves your heart… you can just feel it. Of course, my own taste plays a big role. But I think that’s actually my strength as a producer, not as a composer. When I hear a song, I can immediately picture the visual… what kind of story, what kind of vibe it could carry. That allows me to work faster. For example, when expressing something like school uniforms, there are so many possible variations. But I always like to start from the basics… what’s the original idea of a school uniform? I try to return to that. So with “Ditto,” I wanted to tap into something primal… the pure, basic feeling of liking someone. That kind of emotion is universal. Everyone has it; it’s wired into us. When I saw Director Shin Woo-seok’s interpretation of it, I thought, “Yes, that’s it.” That’s the kind of complete interpretation I look for. I believe the completion of a project comes from every person involved thinking about their part down to the final detail… the maximum quality they can bring out. My role is to unify and refine all of that. I draw out the essence of each person’s creativity, trimming away anything unnecessary. So the final product is something that’s polished and high-quality, just the way I envisioned it. That’s my working style. So it’s not like I’m fixated on retro or stuck in a particular style. I don’t think human taste has changed all that much. Things people liked in the past are the same things we like now. It’s just the form of expression that changes with time. I don’t feel bound by “past” or “present.” I don’t even think in those boundaries. To me, it’s all just good taste. You know how kids sometimes have their own little treasure boxes when they’re young? I think my work is kind of like that. I want to make things that never feel dated—that are timelessly enjoyable. ——— “Dance Expression and 'Hype Boy'” 🧢: I had a vision of what kind of girl group I wanted to create. That’s why I chose a song like “Hype Boy.” And to bring out that feeling, we created four different versions of the music video. Every choice had a purpose, everything was designed to maximize the experience of the song. “Hype Boy” is such a unique song. It has this strange, piercing melody that gives people chills in a good way. To emphasize that tingling feeling, I had to break away from the standard K-pop choreography format… you know, the kind where everyone is in perfect formation, doing synchronized moves. But our songs don’t suit that kind of choreography. Our dances are much harder. They require the body to move very naturally with the groove of the melody and beat. So I think our members are incredible. It’s not easy to express naturalness with your body, and you have to really enjoy it to make it look effortless. But they pulled it off so well. They’re still young, but they’re so talented. And through it all, I wanted to avoid making them look like they were performing just for business. I wanted them to show the pure joy and bright spirit that’s natural for people their age… genuine, carefree, radiant. ——— “The difference between NewJeans and conventional K-POP” 🧢: Ah, for me, it’s all about naturalness. And honestly, naturalness isn’t something you can produce or direct into existence. It comes from how I interact with the NewJeans members on a daily basis… what kind of environment they practice in, how they live and work. There are so many things that don’t appear on camera, but those unseen aspects have to be in place in order for true naturalness to come through. That’s why I wanted to create that kind of environment for the girls. And also, I wanted to shape my own working environment in that way too. Only then can something truly natural, something unforced and not overly stimulating, really come out. To begin with, I don’t believe anyone can be completely natural in front of a camera or under the gaze of others. It’s human nature to become self-conscious. That’s why I think naturalness is our strength, but it can’t be our concept. If you try to turn “naturalness” into a concept, it actually becomes incredibly artificial. So why do I place so much importance on naturalness? It’s because the girls are still so young. While other kids their age are going through school and having a wide range of life experiences, these members are living very different lives. Before they officially debuted, I told them, “This is like studying together with me.” Our standard contract is seven years, which is about the same length as going through high school and college in Korea: three years of high school and four years of university. So I told them, “We’re going to school together. We’re learning together.” And in that sense, I want to be a good teacher to them. They’re also surrounded by an incredibly professional team, people they’d never meet even in a traditional school setting. I’ve never really liked the word idol. These days, that word is used more like a job title, something manufactured by the industry, and it’s far from its original meaning. To me, the term idol feels misplaced. It doesn’t really reflect who these artists are or what they represent. And I’m not the kind of person who clings to labels or terminology. In fact, what I really want is to break the stereotypes and preconceptions that come with the idol industry. I want us to show people something different… to challenge those assumptions and redefine what this can look like. That’s the kind of mindset I have. ——— “Isn't it difficult for the members to express "naturalness"?” 🧢: There were a lot of things I considered when forming the group. First and foremost, I think it was important that the members shared a similar vibe… like how I prefer working with staff who align with my taste. It’s important for the crew to be on the same wavelength. And by that, I mean more than just getting along… it also extends to shared values. Of course, people won’t all share identical values, but when we’re facing in a similar direction, everything becomes easier. It’s also just more efficient to work with people who have overlapping tastes. Now, when it comes to our members, they each have their own individual tastes, but those preferences are still in development. Just like we all went through as kids, they’re still growing, still discovering themselves. They’re not in a finished state. So we didn’t cast them based on some complete or polished version of themselves. It wasn’t like, “This person is fully formed, let’s pick her.” It was more like, “Ah, she has potential, there’s something there.” That sense of a spark… those were the kinds of subtleties I paid attention to. I didn’t cast anyone just because they were pretty or could sing well. I don’t work like that. I really value those finer, more delicate aspects. Even the design of the light stick wasn’t something that came from a long strategic planning session… it was actually a spontaneous idea. I didn’t sit down and think, “Let’s make a light stick like this.” NewJeans didn’t have a fixed logo, but I felt we still needed a unifying symbol. So one night, just before going to sleep, I kept thinking about it. Right before dozing off, I started sketching and it turned into a rabbit’s face. When I drew it out, the shape just continued and turned into a bunny. To me, the NewJeans members are like little bunnies… playful, innocent. Their visuals also resemble rabbits in a way. And rabbits symbolize abundance. That made me think: “Ah, maybe our fans will multiply like rabbits. That would be great.” So that bunny face became both a symbol for the members and the fans. The image came to me all at once, and I imagined a venue completely filled with bunny light sticks. That vision led to the creation of the light stick itself. Since I always prioritize fun in everything I do, the next idea that came to mind was making the light stick customizable. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if fans could personalize their bunny?” That way, each rabbit would represent a different person’s character. So we included accessories, allowing everyone to customize their own bunny. It’s symbolic of all these different bunnies coming together and enjoying a good time as one. Our light stick has a big head, so when it’s used in a concert hall, it lights up in heart shapes that are very visible. That was the image I really wanted. And that bunny face… it’s also a heart. It represents both the face of NewJeans and our hearts. It’s the love we’re showing to our fans, and the love we want to receive in return. Every time I see it, I feel deeply moved. It’s very emotional for me because it’s a perfect realization of what I envisioned. As someone with a background in creative direction, there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing an idea materialize exactly the way you imagined it. That kind of work holds deep meaning for me. ⸻ 🧢: Looking back, I think in 2023 we were able to achieve almost everything we had hoped for. I’m so incredibly grateful for that. Of course, this is an ongoing challenge… and the better things go, the more pressure there is. That’s why I always try to return to my original mindset. Just like I tell the members, I try to remind myself of the beginning and keep things fun. Back then, when we were first putting out content, planning the music, and working on visuals, I felt this thrill… this rush of excitement. I don’t want to forget that feeling. So I try hard to engrave that emotion into every album we release. I’m constantly working to rediscover the joy in all of it. So for 2024, I hope everyone can look forward to us with fresh anticipation. And even if we come out with something completely new, I hope people will receive it warmly and with excitement. That’s really my deepest wish. 🙏
