Man this could have been a nasty blizzard for the Northeast had this digging trough got a negative tilt just a bit sooner… The surface low off of the North Carolina coast will really start to crank Sunday morning bringing heavy snow and 60-70mph gusts to the Outer Banks.

Live emergency update from the Extreme Cold Warning in Minnesota in the core of the Arctic air mass making this crippling snow and ice storm possible! In this update we look at the short-fuse forecast models of ice accretion and snowfall. North of OKC through the Ozarks and along the Ohio River Valley could see 1-2 FEET of snow. A band of sleet to the south of that likely through OKC Metro and pure freezing rain southern OK/North Texas into western TN and also the Carolina Piedmont. #snow #ice #winterstorm
