After the chance of scattered storms Friday afternoon and evening, Friday night looks quiet in NTX. By early Saturday, another round of showers and storms will roll in. The severe risk with this looks very low. Saturday morning will have scattered rain, some heavy at times.

A whole train of big #solarstorms are on their way, along with some smaller storms hitting now, and some fast solar wind! It is an #aurora photographers dream starting now and lasting at least through the weekend. Right now, the biggest of the storms should hit late Thursday or early Friday morning and is well-represented in NOAA's prediction model. You can also get a 3D view of the coming solar storm in my earlier post. G3 to G4 storm levels are possible by Friday.

A few storms are still expected to pop up west of the metroplex this evening. One or two could produce up to quarter size hail or 60mph wind gusts. The expectation is for the storms to be stronger west of the metroplex and gradually weaken on their approach to the metroplex.

Not good. The newest version of our in-house model indicates a broken like of supercells from central into northeast Arkansas. While this will evolve, the threat for severe storms producing tornadoes is very possible. Have a way to receive warnings. #ARWX #ARStormTeam
