This is a procedure called Viddhakarma, an Ayurvedic "surgery" involving puncturing of specific points (often Nasagra or tip of the nose) with a needle, and is clamied to treat conditions like chronic sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, deviated nasal septum (DNS), and loss of smell. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. DO NOT VISIT AN AYURVEDA PRACTITIONER FOR ANY OF YOUR HEALTH NEEDS. THEY ARE CRAZY. The person pictured here, is an Ayurveda practitioner herself, undergoing this traumatic and dangerous procedure. This does not cure or control any disease. The procedure is also done without any infection control steps. Local site infection that can track down the nose to the sinuses, excessive bleeding (from the Little's Area of the nose, a highly vascular region located on the lower-front part of the nasal septum), inflammation and damage of nasal cartilage, nerve damage to the external nasal nerve are all complications that these incompetent fools cannot identify or have knowledge about. Ayurvedic degree teaches a different anatomy and physiology and students have ZERO competency in realistically treating themselves, forget patients. Do not send your children to study Ayurveda.
