Keir Starmer confirmed he deployed extra forces to Cyprus Akrotiri base before the 'israeli'-US attacks on Iran. Deputy PM David Lammy then claimed Cyprus is a NATO country—it's not. The UK is not acting in defence or NATO alliance. We are acting out of submission to 'israel'.

David Lammy: "... because Cyprus is part of NATO" erm, Cyprus is not a member of NATO. Maybe its just a slip of the tongue? Except he repeats the claim just a minute later "... Cyprus is a NATO country" Does the deputy PM not know that Cyprus isn't a member of a NATO?

No Mr Lammy, Cyprus is not part of NATO. For the UK’s Deputy Prime Minister and former Foreign Secretary to say this is astonishing. Cyprus is divided into two self-governing states. The UK is a guarantor power and should know the island’s realities - including the existence of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus….

#Breaking Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a statement to the House of Commons ‘It is important for me to say that our bases in Cyprus are not being used by US bombers. The security of our friends and partners in Cyprus is of critical importance. And I want to be clear, the strike on Akrotiri in Cyprus was not in response to any decision we’ve taken. In our assessment the drone was launched prior to our announcement.’

Here comes the warning against UK. Any attack by a B-52 bomber or any other bomber flying from a UK base on Tehran would make the 2 British bases in Cyprus legitimate targets for Iran. As Iranian missiles cannot reach London, they can take out important defence assets in Cyprus (1300 km to 1500 km from Iran). UK has two bases on the island of Cyprus: Akrotiri & Dhekelia. - Akrotiri is a full fledged airbase. - Dhekelia is a signal intelligence gathering hub of UK in Mediterranean Sea. It has highly sophisticated radar communication systems that can gather intelligence from long ranges, even Russia.

Starmer speaking at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus: "Quite a bit of what goes on here can't necessarily be talked about all of the time... we can't necessarily tell the world what you're doing" RAF Akrotiri is the base from which the RAF flies missions to assist Israel in its genocide.

There is a lot of misinformation circulating about the missiles mentioned by the UK Defence Secretary and Cyprus, so let’s clarify what was ACTUALLY said. The UK Defence Secretary did NOT say Cyprus was the target. He stated that two Iranian missiles were fired in the direction of Cyprus, but clearly added: 👉 “We don’t believe they were targeted at Cyprus.” The point he was making was about regional risk, not a direct attack on Cyprus. Given the geography, Israel is extremely close to Cyprus. Missiles aimed toward Israel or military activity in that area can naturally pass through or near the wider Eastern Mediterranean airspace, which includes Cyprus. That proximity raises concern — but concern does not mean Cyprus was the intended target. In fact, the minister’s message was that Iran’s response appears wide-ranging and indiscriminate across the region, creating risks for nearby areas and military personnel, even when they are not the intended objective. So let’s be accurate: ✅ Missiles were detected heading in a direction that concerned the area. ❌ Cyprus was NOT confirmed as a target. ❌ There is no statement saying Iran attacked Cyprus. Accuracy matters, especially during tense regional events. Let’s share facts — not panic.

Donald Trump said he is "disappointed" in UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer over his initial reluctance to send military support following the US and Israeli attacks on Iran. Trump again compared Starmer to a former prime minister and said while he thinks Starmer is a "nice man" he "is not Winston Churchill".
