Am I missing something? So 2TK admitted that he knew Lord Mandy had a close relationship with a convicted child abuser and then thought “you’re the man for the job as our Ambassador in America”. That in itself is damming and Starmer is the man accountable and should pay the price with his job as PM.

We accept the narrative that Mandelson only emailed one individual, Epstein with sensitive information ? Mandelson could have 50 other Epstein type figures he emailed with sensitive information. Is it time to contact BT and get a comprehensive scan of his old email mailboxes ?

This comes down to judgment, not gossip. If the PM knew about the association, the public deserves a clear explanation of why it didn’t disqualify an ambassadorial role — transparency is the minimum standard here.

He also lied to the house and fled before hearing the point of order with proof. The speaker should have forced him to return and answer.

I'm sorry but I've interviewed plenty of people for jobs. If I saw on the CV that they associated with a known pedophile after he had been convicted, I wouldn't employ that person - why did @Keir_Starmer decide it was a good idea? I can't help thinking that when this all gets revealed (perhaps decades from now) it will be because he thought Mandelson could sell the Chagos deal to Trump. Nobody I know can fathom why this deal is so important to Starmer unless it's to enrich his friends now and later on himself. Ingratiating himself to China to get a visit can't be the only reason surely?
