Phillipson’s understanding of the independent sector is woeful. Didn’t she realise that teachers from closing fee paying schools will just move o’seas to teach in international schools. There are masses of them in the far east with good salaries.

What she fails to understand is those who send their children to private schools aren't all from upper middle class families. Some like me, just wanted to give their kids the best start in life they could. I did 2 jobs to put my girls through school. I stacked shelves at night!
