PRX alecks: “If you win a trophy in any year, it’s a good year. We’ve attended the two big events, Toronto and Paris, and we did well in Champs, in my opinion. I think we would have lost to the two teams that are in the top three. So that means that if anything, I think we lost to better teams, and I’m very, very proud of their performance in general, especially their resilience at the start of the year. I think the fact that we still managed to stick together and go through our tough times, I think it’s a huge milestone for the team. As a group, I think I just want them to know I’m very proud of them. I thought that they improved all the way to here. Cam Johnson says goodbye to the Nets: "I love the people in that building... I enjoyed it because of that, and I had faith in what we were building because of that. I really think Jordi's a fantastic coach. Playing that one season under him, personnel constantly shifting, we had trades, we had injuries, he always maintained such a good approach to the team, and he was always able to motivate us to play hard. Our record wasn't great, but I think throughout the season we consistently gave effort. And I credit our coaching staff a lot for that. Two years there, playoffs when we first got there. We want more guys to play, and I was known as one of the first guys to say I hated it because the year the 65-game rule was implemented was my contract year. Scottie Scheffler is a member of the PGA Tour’s Player Advisory Council. He was asked today if there’s any issues he feels strongly about, and after originally saying he “doesn’t know”, he then spoke at depth about the importance of player pathways. Speaking ahead of his defence of the Memorial Tournament, Scottie said: “I don't know. Yeah, no, I don't know. Nothing too strong. “I think one thing that we talked about in terms of the new schedule was a healthy amount of turnover, and one thing that I'm actually pretty passionate about is avenues of getting onto the Tour. I felt like when I came out, that was something that wasn't an issue for me, but it was more difficult than I thought it would be. So when I turned pro -- when I was planning on turning pro after graduating college, PGA Tour U wasn't a thing. “I tried to sign up for PGA Tour Canada Q-School and there was only one qualifier that I could do due to my college schedule, finishing out the year, and that qualifier had already filled up because they give priority to the people that had already had status before, which I understand. But there wasn't an avenue for me to even qualify for PGA Tour Canada, so I spent the summer playing Monday qualifiers on the PGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour and playing mini Tour events so I could stay sharp and get ready for Q-School. “So when PGA Tour U started being discussed, that was something I was pretty passionate about, getting a new young group of guys out there and giving them avenues to get into our system and opportunities to get onto the PGA Tour. Because the guys coming out of college are getting better and better from a young age, and I think in a lot of other sports, it's very simple how you get into the professional ranks, is you get drafted, and in golf, there's not really that avenue, and I felt like that was something that we needed to have on the Tour is the right avenues for guys to be able to got out here. I feel like where we're at on PGA Tour U, giving those guys the opportunities is something that I think is important to me.” He went on to emphasise his feelings: “I think just giving guys opportunities is really what it is. Golf is a hard sport to predict, and I think that's why for a long time there wasn't that system, just because a guy could be a great college player, but it's really hard to figure out who is going to be the best player out here. “So I think giving guys a lot of opportunity across the board is important, and that's not giving out a ton of cards on the PGA Tour, but getting guys into our system where when you know if you play well at a PGA Tour sanctioned event, whether it's PGA Tour Canada or Latin America -- or I think it's called PGA Tour Americas now. Mini thread on Matisse Thybulle's exit interview because I'm not sure there's a more insightful interview in the NBA. Thybulle on if he still has levels he wants to get to as a player: "Over this year I felt more connected to the path of getting there then I ever have and that says a lot to our coaching and development staff... You look at players like Deni, I don't think I've seen a player get that much better over one season in my career. Just continuing to see examples of that. Toumani last year to this year. Myself if 15 games."
