A popular businessman with influence in Embu and Kirinyaga counties was reportedly picked up on Wednesday by armed men believed to be police officers. Local sources familiar with the incident report that the man is an active citizen who was reportedly involved in nationwide Gen Z-led anti-government protests in June. Embu County was a hotspot for demonstrations during that time. The businessman is said to have provided support to some of the youths who participated in the protests. It remains unclear whether his arrest is directly linked to the June protests. Reports suggest he may been ferried to Nairobi for further questioning.

The streets of Nairobi are so cruel to it's own people and this time, foreigns were not spared. Her gold chain was stolen and passers-by had to comfort her.

We’re at KNH with Jonah Kariuki whose son Boniface Mwangi Kariuki was brutally shot by a rogue police force at close range yesterday while hawking face masks along Moi Avenue during the #JusticeForAlbertOjwang protest. Boniface Mwangi Kariuki is alive but fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit at the KNH. Last night activists held demonstrations demanding justice for Awdah Hathaleen. Four activists were arrested, including me, and released after five hours. Awdah was murdered by a settler, members of his family kidnapped by Israeli soldiers and held at a concentration camp, his body held hostage by Israeli police. His murderer Yinon Levy walks free, and actually returned to Awdah's village Umm al-Kheir this morning, continuing to capture its land. Awdah's family is asking for international solidarity, for activists to hold demonstrations and marches, create solidarity tents, and contact Israeli embassies demanding the unconditional return of his body and the release of his family members.
