For decades, Brazil’s unreasonable acts, policies, and practices have harmed U.S. commerce, including by unfairly advantaging Brazil’s producers over their American competitors and by restricting access to one of the world’s top export markets. For example: Illegal Deforestation: Brazil’s deforestation practices make it more difficult for the U.S. logging industry to compete fairly in global markets. A staggering 91% of deforestation in the Amazon was illegal harvesting between 2023 and 2024. Illegally sourced timber products contribute to distorted global prices, resulting in the devaluation of U.S. wood products, with illegally sourced timber estimated to reduce legally sourced timber prices by 7% to 16%. There is also evidence that some sub-central levels of Brazil’s government are taking steps to eliminate or roll back tax and other public- and private-sector incentives designed to discourage deforestation. Read the below 🧵 for more non-reciprocal, pervasive trade practices.

A very good exchange with Magyar Péter (Ne féljetek) in Brussels today. We discussed the steps necessary to unlock EU funds earmarked for Hungary, that are frozen due to corruption and rule of law concerns. European Commission will support your work to address these issues and realign with shared European values. Our teams will continue to work closely together. For a prosperous Hungary at the heart of our shared European home.

🇮🇩 Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol stated that his party will summon companies suspected of worsening the impact of the Sumatra floods. These companies are believed to be involved in deforestation and logging in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Hanif noted that the loss of tens of thousands of hectares of forest has reduced the water capacity of river basins, exacerbating the flooding.

ICE detained an illegal alien in El Monte, CA while the person filming had to barely crack their shades open to record it. I’ve been telling the boys for a while now, watch your six. These illegals are everywhere in California, and they are scared to death of ICE.

BREAKING: Trump just literally gave a speech at the US Department of justice and stated that CNN and MSNBC are “illegal”. These are the words you’d hear from a fascist dictator. Imagine if Joe Biden went to the DOJ and declared that Fox News and Newsmax were illegal. First, they attack the truth. Then, they attack those who tell it.

The EFF has been accused by fools of supporting illegal immigration, which is nonsense. The position of the EFF has been clear. Illegal immigrants must be documented, in order to ensure that their presence is known and are easily traceable, if needs be. It is in the interest of national security to do so. Illegal immigrants are here, they keep coming, and will keep coming regardless of threats of deportations because borders are porous. Home Affairs has no capacity and competence to stop illegal immigration as proven by the Sky News footage attached. The solution to combat illegal immigration, which we all oppose, is to document these people. Documentation does not mean granting citizenship nor permanent residency status, because I know that is what xenophobic morons will think. Grant them temporary and renewable permits, with conditions.
