Kevin McCarthy is using hungry kids, sick veterans, and retirees as leverage to gut programs families rely on. I agree we should scrutinize how tax dollars are spent, but holding vulnerable Americans—and frankly, our entire economy—hostage to force unpopular cuts is not the way.

@jgold323 Ms Porter, I’ve asked before but why do the solutions to our nations $ problems always fall on the poor the elderly and the middle class? Why are the wealthy never asked to make sacrifices?

@cardon_brian The Trump tax cuts, should be the first to go in any-ones budget. It's really the sensible thing to start with, it's bankrupting your debt ceiling, and the loss of it won't hurt any citizens.

Love you Katie Porter❤️

The Democrats won't negotiate and are the ones holding hungry kids, sick veterans, and retirees hostage. All politicians are wasteful. Democrats need their dinner plate broken.

She could help save the world if she just gave a break to a few meals.

we/you/all of us should be OUTRAGED! By what the GOP is trying to do!!! It is bad enough that Democrats thanks to people like Joe Manchin & Sinema couldn't expand our weak threadbare social programs with Build Back Better but now this? Everyone should be fired up and angry!

Sounds like those dependents should really brace for impact, then After months of attempting to negotiate, Porter and her deadbeat colleagues are just sitting around and letting it happen as the whine and moan about the injustice to others their own negligence is causing.

Republicans started this mess by killing the revenue side of the budget when they gave out their corporate and billionaire tax cuts. This is the old Republican two step, tax cuts to kill revenues and benefit their donors followed by program cuts to punish the working class.

I will support your efforts on wasteful expenditures. Please give me some meaningful examples.

Simply not true. Democrats goose not to give up anything and don’t want to balance the budget.
