Kyiv. It is currently minus 15 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit). Just imagine what the temperature is like in these concrete houses without heating, and how people sleep in them. Currently, 471 buildings in the city are without heating. I see so many videos from the capital shared by Kyiv residents: how they go to bed and how they tuck in their children - all together in one bed, dressed in layers of clothes and buried under a mountain of blankets.

#Hurricaneerin is hungry. It will feast on hot water up to 88 degrees. After using this heat to power its engine, it will dissipate said heat. Leaving a cool ocean wake in its path, ~10 degrees lower than it found it. The water cools not just due to heat absorption, but also overturning /upwelling, wind and rain.

Most of Kyiv is without electricity, there's not enough even for critical infrastructure after the Russian attacks. Many are without heating, as well. A lot of stores have to close because generators cannot cope in the cold. Most trolleybuses and trams stopped due to lack of electricity. It is -11 degrees Celsius in Kyiv. Low temperatures will persist for at least another week, probably more. Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure are pure terror of civilians, especially the most vulnerable people. Russia must answer for its war crimes.

Y'all see this swirl over the Mediterranean passing south of Benghazi? That's not a hurricane – it's a Medicane. Yes, that's a real term. The word is a portmanteau combining "Mediterranean" and "hurricane." The Mediterranean is too small to support barotropic (tropical cyclones) the scale of conventional hurricanes AND is too far north to support a truly tropical cyclone anyway. Moreover, water temperatures are too cool. (Most tropical cyclones exist over sea surface temperatures of 78 degrees or warmer; the current water temperature off the coast of Libya is about 63 degrees.) Medicanes can and occasionally do reach hurricane strength. The strongest on record was Medicane Ianos, which impacted Greece between September 17-18, 2020. It briefly became the equivalent of a tiny Category 2 hurricane with winds of 95 mph. On rare occasions, a nontropical low can meander over the Mediterranean, and a storm can form that takes on some tropical characteristics. Unlike nontropical cyclones, which are common at the mid-latitudes, medicanes feature a warm core. That requires warm sea surface temperatures. A 2016 study found that medicanes are likely to become significantly stronger by the end of the century in response to warming sea surface temperatures. Tthe researchers found a likelihood for "a higher number of moderate and violent medicanes.” Since 1980, Mediterranean sea surface temperatures have increased between 1 and 2 degrees.

The ongoing record-breaking heat wave in the West will continue while expanding across the Central U.S. through the weekend. Based on preliminary data, there have been around 50 March high temperature records broken since March 17 and more than 150 daily high temperature records broken. Record setting temperatures are expected to continue over the next several days. Most areas will see temperature departures of 25 to 35 degrees higher than normal for this time of year. However, some locations in the central Plains on Saturday could see departures exceed 40 degrees from normal! Overnight low temperatures will also be well above average, providing little relief from the heat. The early time of year, prolonged nature of this heat wave, and limited seasonal acclimation will increase the risk of heat impacts especially among sensitive populations or those without effective cooling. Adjust plans to limit strenuous outdoor activities to early morning hours, drink plenty of fluids, and seek air conditioned spaces. For more heat safety tips visit:

You can see here how the major (brightest) jet from 3I/ATLAS rotates by 20 degrees in 60 seconds! Other images show that jet in further stages of rotation. This is completely impossible for a "natural comet". Now you know why no new, high-resolution images are being posted by major professional telescopes. From Ray's Astrophotography on YouTube. P.S. Yesterday while mowing the assholes were in the sky, but the trails were different this time… they had a little squiggles. Picture to the right, I just took It. They’re out there spraying as I type… …because it’s gonna rain this evening and we’re gonna have horrific winds. Straight line winds… Betty what are those? Straight-line wind refers to a powerful, fast-moving surface wind that lacks a rotational pattern and can cause widespread damage, often resulting from thunderstorms. These winds can reach speeds of over 100 mph and are typically associated with downbursts. Then followed by a freeze again… Who can tell Betty what will happen to all the fruit trees and bloom right now? The freeze is expected to occur in parts of the Midwest and East Coast of the United States early next week, specifically from March 19 to March 21, 2026. During this timeframe, temperatures are predicted to drop significantly, with highs falling into the 30s and 40s degrees Fahrenheit, following a period of unusually mild temperatures. NASA recovery team opening the Artemis capsule Here we see the message "not flat" on his helmet... very interesting how they're even making a big deal out of it now! It's quite astonishing that the guy didn't even burn his hands on a capsule that, just minutes before, was supposedly exposed to temperatures of around 2,800 °C. Temperatures at which even steel would have long since melted. Instead, it can be easily touched with bare hands, as if it had just emerged from a lukewarm bath. These alleged re-entry temperatures are far above the melting point of steel (approx. 1,500 °C). In any iron foundry, glowing steel would react dramatically when quenched in water, but apparently not here. NASA is just laughable.😂

$⚠️ I’m not liking the way this Winter Storm is trending for our Texas brotheren.... One aspect that isn’t being talked about enough is the combination of significant Ice Accumulations followed by days of Brutal Cold. If Texas were to receive even a fraction of the ice currently being shown, widespread power outages would become a real concern. With frigid air rushing in behind the storm, temperatures could remain at or below freezing for days, making recovery much harder. This will not be as cold as the deadly Winter Storm of 2021, but the dangerous combination of ice and prolonged cold will still be there. 🌡️ Some areas could see temperatures 30 to 40 degrees below average after the storm, which would compound impacts if outages occur.
