The reason I became good at math in senior college even though I had sucked throughout junior college was because I had a good math teacher who influenced my study habits. I realized wasn’t as dumb as I thought I was because my parents did an awful job teaching me maths, they made me feel stupid but I just had bad study habits and he changed that for me which I’m still grateful for till now
