Kid Gets Caught Riding on Private Property

You can tell the property owner was a little mad at first but he did handle it very well, even leveled with the kid at the end and explained why he can't be riding on his property. Good on him.

You can think this guy's a jerk but he's right. You do not want kids on your land without your permission and without their parents' knowledge. That's just a recipe for huge trouble.

The truth is His parents haven't told him anything one way or another. The kid just wanted to have fun and he didn't care who's property it was.

Yup back in the 80s n 90s this might fly but now people sue over everything and if someone gets a scratch on your property you get sued.

If that kid gets hurt on his property, technically they could sue him. Totally understandable and reasonable.

It’s as nicely as he could have handled it. Now the predictable retard parent, perceives it as rude or aggressive to his kid and escalates the problem to something it never had to be. (For those that wanted to know how the video ends)

The guy handled it appropriately. I would have made mom and dad sign a waiver or release of liability and let the kid ride.

I own a few hundred acres, I don’t allow people on my property. Reason being is people don’t respect it, they leave trash and just wreck it. I use to let people hunt my property, but now I have a collection of stands in my garage from being found on my private property.

He's absolutely right that he bears at least some liability if someone gets hurt on the property. He has an interest in keeping people off of it, especially if they are doing dangerous things like riding a dirtbike.

Anyone that has a problem with this does not live in the real world. This is the same as a house in the suburbs with a beautiful pool and a neighborhood kid decides he can just go use it. It’s a liability and dangerous and frankly I don’t want strangers in my pool. Same here

Put a no trespassing sign up. I did on roads to my property and for hunters.

Go talk to his dad and then let the kid ride on the property like once a week, not a big deal. Have him sign a waiver if you’re so worried about it..

Guy who owned my house before me had to pay out a $1mn law suit because a kid trespassed, broke into the pool, dove in shallow water and broke his neck. I’m not going to be nice to anyone on my property without permission.

It has to be this way. Aside from not knowing if the kids will cause damage or not...the parents will absolutely sue in todays highly litigious world, if the child gets hurt.

I'm glad he explained it to the kid that it's not his fault he's angry, it's his parents and that if he gets injured there, it becomes a while issue for both parties. Great man right there

Guy handled it as amicably as possible. This could have gone away worse if it were someone completely different.

I understand the frustration with not wanting to be held liable if the kid falls, but he is a kid man chill the fuck out. Just explain to him he can't ride there.
